I am hoping that all my running will finally show up on the scales when I go to weightwatchers tomorrow - so far it has had no effect whatsoever :mad:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Look forward to reading what plans you have drawn up - I am in a bad mood today as just logged onto online banking (as I do every morning) and we have somehow gone £2.60 over our overdraft - so another £25 fee
I will just have to motivate myself to make an extra £25 today somehow.
I managed to list a few bits on ebay yesterday, so I'll have to hope that I get some interest.
Right, off to playgroup now with little one. I'll catch up with you later! xEmergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0 -

Thanks MissO I was working hard on the plan when things went pear shaped we all knew they can do. What happened well:
My OH had written a cheque out on our joint account to pay for the car tax for his new car. He thought I knew which I didn't. I had a fit when I checking the banking in the am and even went so far as to phone the bank to check what the cheque was for since the number was out of sequence and by my reckoning went back to 2006! Anyway it turned out to be car tax which he thought was coming out of the loan fund but that got used for my car repairs.....
Then when I went to collect my youngest Ds from nursery they very kindly handed me back my last childcare voucher to say it was cancelled. I phone the company who had basically misinformed me as to how they processed the vouchers. They told me that they take the money one month and issue the voucher at the start of the next month. In fact they now say they issue the voucher as the start of the month and take the money at the end of the same month...longshot is that I will probably need to find money to pay this months bill!!! Mind you I've left the company tracing the phone calls where I was told the information and thinking about compensating me for the potential lack of saving on this months bill and the embarassment I was caused.
Oh and my plan.......next post its on its wayWorking Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
Sometimes it does feel like its one step forwards and two steps back. My youngest DD started going to Nursery 2 weeks ago. It is only 9am-1pm and it (only) costs £11 which includes a hot dinner, but she doesn't 'need' to go. She comes to the shop with me the other 4 days a week, I just wanted her to go to nursery so she can mix with other children, and she absolutely loves it, anyway, getting to the point....they gave me a bill yesterday for £55 - i didn't realise it had to be paid for in advance and it must be a 5 week month or something, so I have to find £55 in the morning and its really tight.
I feel like staying within our overdraft limit is such a juggling act. Yesterday my account said i had a minus available balance, so I assumed I had exceeded it, incurring a £25 fee, but today, it seems not.
Anyway, sorry to highjack your thread with my problems....
MissO
P.S - We sound like we both have similar situations, 3 children, OH's with an expensive car addiction and I also think we are a similar age too!Emergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0 -
You've certainly not hijacked my thread. You are right that its such a balancing act. What makes is worse is that for me my last nursery bill is next month and I won't be sorry to not be paying that one. I will be sad and happy to see my youngest going to school though. He was there this am and he looked so smart in his shirt and tie and he just breezed without so much as a goodbye......they grow up.
We do sound so similar as do our problems, head aches, issues!! Problem shared and all that...I just need a little more of your positivity at present.
Mind you my OH came home with flower, wine and chococates tonight as an apology...my first thought...how much was that lot (I didn't say it though sometimes the cost needs to be waved :rotfl: )Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
Flowers, wine and chocolates - you are a lucky lady, one would be nice, but all 3!
Yes, I agree that a problem shared helps, I joined here in August 2007 (under a different username) and was doing quite well, but then our situation worsened again, not due to overspending, simply due to surviving and I felt totally downhearted about it all, feeling that we were doomed. I read a lot of financial freedom books and the like and they all share a common thread, that being positive and focusing on a goal helps, so I re-joined with a brand new attitude ready to kick this debts as*!
I have to be honest though, my OH doesn't really 'get' this online community thing, he calls me a techno geek :rotfl:Emergency Savings Fund - £11002015 Mortgage overpayments = £0
