Looking forward to seeing your totals L - I'm sure they'll be good.
Just updated my sig to show the my progress on the paying £20k off by Xmas 09....:D .Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
I've not posted for a while - its that time of year. I'm trying to get in control of Christmas rather than the other way round. I've done most of my shopping and so far managed to say within budget. I feel a little mean with a few things but thats the way it is this year and people need to understand - I'm sure we're not alone.
Not much is happening on the Debt busting front. I've made all the monthly payments this month and the target RBS cc now stands at £2400c so that is within my sights now.
I've review the the childcare budget for next year and the amount I allow for it each month is going to have to increase. I'll need cc for 2 children 4 days (Pre & After school) a week and for 3 for the school holidays. Taking what I've paid this increases my currently underbudgeted (!!) childcare to £300 pm. Previously my main bill was paid through childcare vouchers. I'm going to see if I can get my c/minder & after school provider to take them as this might knock a little of the bill each month.
Allowing for my increase in income in Jan this can be covered - thankfully.
Aside from this its been quiet. I've a few things listed on ebay but no bidders. A few mystery shops lined up and a huge list of stuff to get done  . Cars
Just recovering from the last two garage bills for my car when lone and behold the windscreen wipers pack up working  . Great so its now booked in again for next week to have them fixed and have the MOT done earlier than Jan when it was booked in for it!! This plus I've not be able to use the car since Wednesday night last week...............just when I didn't need the hassle or more importantly the bill.
The tax is due at the end of this month and the insurance at the end of Jan which will leave the car fund seriously short. The latest repair bill be have to be funded from my extra money next month (which is already depleted by having to pay my last nursery bill), the tax from Decembers car fund and the insurance from Jan's car fund plus less being thrown at debt repayments.
Since I've no car next week until Wednesday I can't do the mystery shop that I'd booked.
Added to that one of my ebay buyers has had the paypal payment declined which means the good have been sent and I've not been paid  .
On the plus side:
Christmas is under control. Most of the shopping is done the MSW DFW way :T . Lots of bits and bobs to do but they will all get done eventually. I'm really going to focus on it this week so that I can relax a little next week :rotfl:
Need to bottom out our mortgage. We managed to get a fairly good tracker offer from our existing lender before the big BR cut. Due to last weeks cut this is now cheaper that our existing fix so we need to shift before the 1 Jan rather than wait until the 1/2. I also need to check with our new payment will be since I think it will be marginally less than we are paying already. The difference will of course be thrown at the debts!!
All in all not a great week but that is the way it goes sometimes. Getting DF has its ups and its downs!!:DWorking Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
You are so right about the ups and downs. It does get relentless! Hope its something simple with the car and well done on the shopping. Going to get all our stuff out tonight and see what else needs to be bought.

OK OK Car was...........£170:mad: . It could have been worse as an expensive part was repaired rather than being replaced. Plus they've MOT'd it was well. However I've now spent £500 on it in the last month  . Still the tax and the insurance to find with two more paydays....
The good news is that our mortgage is now finally sorted. We secured a tracker at quite a good rate (before the 2 last drops in int rates) and this means that our mortgage payments will drop by £50pm from next month :T . This will of course be thrown at the debts:D . Every cloud.
Debt busting has been left to the monthly cc payments. I seem to have been spending money (budgeted for of course) rather than accumulating it! Nearly upto £50 in quidco, my doddgy ebay seller is paying up (we'll see), I've not got any MS booked, and I've £22 in the debt busting account.

Even though overpayments are not as big as you would like right now, the main thing is that you are not increasing the debt in any way - this means that next year when things calm down again, you will be able to make a big difference again!

I know this time of year doesn't help though does it. Not only have I been without my car for a week but I just seem to be spending all the time. This time last year I'd not long started my diary and it sudenly seemed so alien to be spending when we'd spent weeks not spending a penny....not literally!! LOL.
The budgets for next year all feel quite do'able so the focus will be keeping within the budgets. At some time over the holidays I need to review and analyse the spending diary and see what needs tweeking.
Christmas should be Ok ref the budget although I need to buy food and booze from it. We've not bought booze since last Xmas and are now down to a bottle or martini!!! thats not going to fly.........the joys of the festive season..Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0
