Working Hard Debt Diary - Here goes

Just a quick update.
Found out this week that I have got a £50 deposit coming back from my DS's nursery...big smiles since I had forgotten about that. That will go into the debt fund...
Discovered tonight that one of my savings accounts now has £27 interest in it - again big smiles. Again this will go into the debt fund...
I've managed to get my quidco balance up to £40 which again is good. I've got my car insurance due at the end of next month so hopefully that will accrue some more..
Finally finally got around to doing the last little bit of my tax return. I've got lots of little pots of money (probably not the best way to work but it works for me!) and I had to trawl through them all to get the interest for last year - hence how I discovered the £27 extra! I went online to enter the interest and submit it and for some reason I can't log on. My misson is to get this done this week so that its off my list.
Realised that with Decembers debt payments my target cc will actually only be (I say only given the size of our debt now and as was - lol) £1500 and could be paid off in January :j
Christmas shopping is definately under control with most of it done bar the foody bits. The budget is tight but as least we've got a budget.
The not so good bits:- Eating for England
- Car tax now due
- List of jobs to be done this week as long as my arm
- DS2 finishes nursery this week which is sad as its one door closing etc...I won't miss the bills and he is really excited about school but its always a little sad to say goodbye.....

Good news on that target card being within reach of being paid off next month - that will help in the motivational stakes!
As for eating for England - well, it's Christmas after all - if you can't eat loads now, then it is a pretty poor show!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Thanks H I know but it doesn't help when things don't fit !!
You are quite right its really motivating to know that I've a card within reach of being paid off again. Lovely feeling and hopefully when thats done I can BT another one (prob my IF one at 16.9% ) to it to get a better int rate. All good for keeping me motivated!!Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -

Done the tax return :j :j :j
Great to have it off my list I am so pleased. By the calculations they owe me.......£10....well its better than nothing....
Took my youngest and his friend for a preschool treat today. McD's followed by the cinema. They had a great time and were so funny. The day cost £26 which was worth every penny! Since its not really in the budget theres my £27 of interest gone but worth it completely.

Debt busting is still happening but it feels like its at a much slower rate than previosuly. Probably because I'm not ebaying,MSing like mad. Our monthly debt repayments are so much more now that the cards should (fingers crossed) tumble quite swiftly. By my reckoning we should clear one in Feb, May, Jun, Aug and Oct:j . I'm toying with the unthinkable idea of applying for a 0% int card. I've steered away from this before due to the enormous amount of our debt but its a more attractive option now. Saying that I am so reluctant to apply for another card - I'm pondering.
I took the boys to see Madagascar escape 2 africa - which was OK. Quite a few adult jokes in there...
I need to get myself organised over the holidays and get the spending diary analaysed fully! I can't believe that I've kept it going over a year and even on holiday.
I need a focus for 2009 to get us to being debt free (mortgage and loan aside). Will keep posting.Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -

Got paid this week so paid a wedge off the debt again. Debt down to £23,345 which is reducing slowly but surely..
Spending has gone a little haywire in the last few days but it will be sorted out next week and brought back under control. Its Christmas after all.
Just wanted to wish all you guys a very happy christmas and a peaceful 2009 :santa2:Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0
