  • Comp girl i agree if its what you want to do cease the day and make it fit around you, if anything once you sign up you can delay things for at least a few month if it gets too much im sure you will do it and once its done its done, i decided to take a rest from study because it was eating into my life and i dont have children to consider, but as long as you can plan and study right it should not affect day to day life and it will help you in the future :D x yay on teh siggy update too, ive worked out u will be 11k of my 20k challenge this month so thats good stuff xx

    Hi WH hows things? cgx
CC Debt: Jan 10 £21,660 now £8,170 hurrah!
  • I feel like this is my first post....

Nothing really dramtic has happened to explain my absense from the forums just stuff getting in the way.

Since the kids have been back at school it feels like life has been 100 mph which is good but not if you know what I mean.

Debt wise we're on track I guess. I've had my girly weekend away (Super super super lovely and very chilled) which was all bought and paid for so FAB. Cars have been behaving. Kids activities have been costing as they do at the start of the term, not helped by us having DD1 and DS1 going on a Scout/Guide Camp next year !!! £440 together.

DD1 is in Italy this week, again all paid for.

The biggest cost of late seems to have been kids clothes. Including the requisite school shoes I've about £250 sitting on the cc to pay off. The clothes budget has been revised to take account of it but it will take a month or two to clear. It will be cleared slowly.

The decorating fund is sitting nicely in the bank however we've not had time to get ourselves organised and do any decorating or shop for any items required.

I need to catch up with everyone elses news and do a totals update - at least the figures have gone down if not by very much!

  • Gosh I feel like I've been away from this site for ages. Its not that I've stopped MS or DFW its just...? Anyway whats new in the WHDFW household:
    • Decorating our bathroom has happened just. Feels like it cost a small fortune but it hasn't really, some paint and floor tiles. Although OH did have to go out and buy some gadget to cut the tiles. Anyway it looks so lovely although it still needs loo seat, cupboard doors and blind. New towels have been ordered via in-laws for Xmas:D
    • New bed has been ordered and is being delivered this week. CG I remember you ordering a new bed last year I think. Anyway this means we've had to get new bedding (bigger bed) so my Mum and I had a fab time in John Lewis's last week. I can't remember when I last shopped there probably pre LBM as we racked up our debt. Anyway I spent money my Mum was giving us for Xmas which was great so new bedding is sitting waiting for the bed. The arrival of the new bed does mean that the bedroom has to be reorganised but that shouldn't be an issue.:D
    • Reorganising of DD and DS's bedroom. DD is getting our old bed, DS2 is getting her high bed, DS1 is getting DS2 divan etc etc. This has been traumatic for OH who has had to venture into the darkest recesses of their bedrooms. We are partially through the change which will be completed when our bed arrives this week. It does mean DD's room will need redecorating and need some new furniture (desk, bookcase etc). Much of this will happen early next year I guess. The spare cabin bed will be ebayed or free cycled.
    • Cars have been farily quiet. OH's has needed a couple of bits fixing and mine needs to go in for a service but that should be OK. We got OH car loan statement in this week which wasn't too bad as we're over half way through now. Insurances have been done for OH's car as well although I didn't bag any cashback I did know £70 of the renewal which isn't too bad in these times
    • Operation FA is back and has been in action for three weeks. I've been out running, yes running , three mornings a week, at 6am, yes 6am :eek:. OH thinks I'm slightly mad but this is the only time that I can actually fit it in on a regular basis. Trying to do it at weekends or evening just doesn't work with the kids activities etc etc. I'm feeling the mental and physical results already. I'd like to have lost a stone by Xmas ;) We'll see
    • Mortgage overpayments have kicked back in but I think that I may need to pull back next months to pay for the decorating bits that Ive not yet paid for and the bits that I will need for DD's room.
All in all its been quite boring in the WHDFW household. Life is continuing, the debt is gradually reducing and we feel like we're in control. I would love to have no debt but the desire to be rid of it (at 0%) it not great enough to pull back all the budgets to achieve it. I've thought about MS, Matched B etc but can't find the motivation now. Ebaying perhaps?

Sorry to have bored everyone :o
