  • Jobs all done after quite a busy weekend.

We had a lovely night out last night. It was expensive (£48 for the tickets, £15 on taxis and £30 spent) however it was lovely to have a night out and the kids were elsewhere (camping and inlaws).

OH and I took the hound for a walk this am and talked about money amongst others things. OH wants to get his old sports car sooner rather then later which as I predicted he would have trouble waiting for! He's got a real thing about cars - very frustrating. Trouble is we could arguably afford it now - all the debt is 0% and we could get the money together from two months debt payments or putting it on a card a 0%. Don't get me wrong I've not given in on this and don't intend too its just getting my head around everything.

We also had a long chat about our goals and targets for next year and me losing weight and getting fitter is really really top of my list. Its made me reflect on what I can achieve if I set my mind to it when talking about us being DF very soon. Getting DF has been and is life changing and losing weight and getting fit is the same. I need to reflect and get a plan in action.

Not that I've got enough to do already, DFW, OU now, kids and family !! and now LosingWeightW!!

This week I have to get organised, list some more on ebay, get some paperwork sorted and get back into control again. Focus, focus, focus!!

  • Oh WH our OH's do sound similar, cars and boys toys! Its hard to control them at times but you've come so far i'm sure you'll work it out together.

I'm with you on the weight loss too, i've tried eveything (bar sewing my mouth up!) i'm enjoying the gym/swim time and i'm definitely toning up but bot lost any weight - all this exercise does make you hungry :) so i've set myself a challenge - you know how we DFW's like a challenge! Lose 1lb per week from now until next Christmas hahaha! ive heard it all before but its all about the trying!

Anyway, ive lost my 1st pound so that gets me a square coloured in on my chart:)

    Good luck! CGx

  • You nailed it on the head boys and toys is right. Trouble is why do they have to be so bloming expensive!

I live the idea of the weight loss challenge at a 1lb per week. If I achieved that I would have lost a stone by Xmas and that I would be very happy with. I've started my good intentions today and (thinking positive) I will achieve this. I'm planning a swim during the day tomorrow - rather than spending my day off glued to the PC - and perhaps even a dog walk as well in the evening.

Its about motivation but also being quite selfish with my time and making time to do the exercise etc. I all to readily think of the kids, OH when acutally I should let them work around me occasionally. I'm now feeling very fired up for it.

OH's car has its MOT done today - £116.67 which was OK. Only my service, OH's tax and my tyres to get done. Money left in the pot £147 plus next months £200. Will £347 get those things done - I think not!!

OUr PC which was dying, then has been revived has now died (more or less again). Very frustrating but we'll plod on and luckily we have DD's laptop and OH's work laptop so access to internet is not a problem. Need to get organised for OU stuff which is looming very large now.

  • Fairly debt neutral day today.

Got a list of office type jobs done which was good and eventually got the required number to transfer money from one of my MB bookies, so I can move this on again now. Feels fairly productive.

Got a quote for OH's car insurance which is due next month. £350ish !! Not good but I've not had the renewal through yet so I'll need to compare it to that plus I've only just touched on the comparison sites and as you know it needs a real focus.

Managed a nice fast paced walk this am which was good since its a lovely day.

Not given in to turning on the heating yet! We're tight wads and are putting this off for as long as possible since as soon as its only its on until at least March next year.

Nothing new listed on ebay. Debt fund is fairly healthy but the cars are going to deplete that next month. We are still going to be so tight to be DF by the end of the year. My budgets don't allow for any overspends, plus OH's is decorating bathrooms, we (this is a we as well unusally) wants to get a Wii for the kids for Xmas, plus PC is now offically deceased (this can wait until the new year definately) all of which are going to cost and none of which are budgetted for. I'm going to plod on with the target but realistically I not sure if its achievable. I guess this is part of the 'relaxing into being DF' that I was concerned about. We are starting to live a little and invest in the house etc and this is so dangerous. I need to reflect and think about progress.

Booked a day out (via Mr T's vouchers) to London Zoo next week for us all. Looking forward to that although I won't be going on the train as it costs an arm and a leg!

    Onwards and debt crashing downwards....

  • Oh I love the zoo!!! Hope you have a great time :) I'm doig a roaring trade in Amazon at the moment - must have sold 8 books since the weekend! Costing me a fortune in postage can't wait for that lot to come back!

Trying to enter MS results on GAP and it won't have it grrrr bet they penalise me for not getting them in within 8 hours - i'm waiting for them to contact me to sort it out!

Got another MS tomorrow after swimming! then parents coming for tea with a request for a coconut/cherry slice for pud so will be baking :) At least the house will be warm :) I've got the heating on but keep turning it down - tight wads hre too haha! Ive taken 26 ebay photos! Just need to list them now so thats my day off planned tomorrow, keep at it, as Hypno says you are almost there! cgx
