Thanks for the support CG. You don't get time or space to feed down for long in this house. After the en famille trip to the dentist, home, homework, meal all with grumpy tired kids - what fun.

Sorry to hear that you've a swine flu casualty. The numbers seem to be increasing again don't they.

The MB thing is really really winding me up. I've had an online row with them tonight about the bet thru requirements since the last two bets I've tried to put on they've only accepted £1. Makes me cross.

I also [STRIKE]think[/STRIKE] know that I should be doing more with my time than effectively number crunching on my day off.....it will come.

OH hasn't helped by deciding that he fancies putting a new floor down in the bathroom. That's him relaxing into being DF...well at least its not the car purchase which will be considerably more.

Two more items listed on ebay - my daily challenge continues!

  • :D Hi WorkingHardDFW, still going great guns I see.. bet you can't wait until the end of the year...you have done so well...

now... can I ask a question.. I have posted on the MS forum but not getting the answer... yet...

With MS do you get refunded the cost of what you have paid out (for example a meal) as well as the payment amount? or is the amount you actually earn what's left after you've spent out..

Its with GAP and the detail says £12-50 payment and then 176699.90 agreed extra?

Sorry to post this on your diary but I know your a bit of an expert in this field and thought I may have more luck getting an answer...! Trying to save money I don't want to spend on a meal unnecessarily if I will only end up with what's left from £12-50....!
    Thanks

  • Thanks for the post. Without wishing our life away we are looking forward to being DF at the end of the year. It does feel like we've a mountain to climb at present though. Press on though...

I'm not really a MS expert. In my experience they set you a payment plus a spending limit. So you might be paid £10 for a shop and be allowed to spend say £15. If you spend less you get that refunded and if you spend more you only get £15 refunded. I hope that makes sense.

MBing is still proving trying. I've £300 locked in one account and I need to bet it through. Unfortunately they limit the bets to very small amounts and when I do get a large bet through I blinking win at the bookies and I've still got the money locked in the account. I'm past being annoyed now and I'm viewing it as a challenge!!

    Onwards...

  • Thanks for your reply.... as for MB, I don't think I'll be going down that street.. can't even get my head round MS'ing... think I shall just give it a go, and either just get a cheap/free meal or bonus of being paid too... didn't find the MS crew very friendly.. think I'll stick to the boards I know... xxxx

Keep going, the finish line is in sight..... :D

  • I've slowly got my head around MSing. I'm much more picky now and if I don't fancy doing it then I don't - naughty really.

MBing has been really good for me and I actually enjoy it now. Its a mental challenge and the money in the MBing account has all been generated from that fund. I've taken about £400 out to throw at the debt in the past year and I've about £300 in the pot now. Its a means to an end but it will sure be nice not to have to do it anymore which is what it feels like.

  • Payday last week, the account had money in it for nearly a week before today when it went west so to speak in all directions. But all the bills are paid and the credit cards slammed so all is well.

Good news :D. OH's expenses are going to be considerably more than I expected, which I did expect. I budget for £250 coming in but this month he's getting £590. The surplus can go in the my mini challenege since I've paid the overbudgeted petrol costs from this months debt repayments. Swings and roundabouts I guess but it does mean that allowing £100 for a night out next weekend (cricket club do :p - this includes tickets) we've got £300 to put in the challenge fund. This means that I've broken the first target raising £400. Very pleased about that.:D

Ebay bits are doing OK. 2 bits with bits on, lots with watchers. I've got nothing of any real value to sell, only bits and bots of stuff. Mind you if I sell one item a day between now and mid December I'm looking at £81 minimum. If I list more, or sell for more that a £1 a piece I'm doing OK...thats what need to keep me plodding on.

Great news on the expenses! I always get really excited when OH puts his in as I never know how much mileage we get and it is normally more than the cost of the petrol. Usually it would just be spends but not anymore, I have plans :D

Completely understand about how debt money has to be diverted to overspends, proves very trying doesn't it
    1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j
    2nd debt - MBNA - £6,618.52
First in many many to go - baby steps and all that!
First lump sum to go - fingers crossed!
    08/06/09 - [STRIKE]£11,497.68[/STRIKE] NOW - £9,757.75
  • It certainly does but its something that I've/we've learnt along the way and I must say that we've learnt the hard way to sort it out. Its only take about 5 years to get this expenses lark sorted out. Mine are fairly steady and easy but Oh's can really vary. I underbudget for what comes in and use any excess to pay off any overspends and thrown at the debt. Its not that often that I get such a surplus but I'm not complaining and its not as if we've not spent the money!!
