Medals all round I think are due!!
Moving forward slowly but surely but only with the help of you guys. Off to get a glass of red to round off the weekend nowWorking Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
First job of the day done. Phoned water people and got a refund of the £12 in my account, however since I've changed my DD date to the 1st (so its easier to manage everything coming out in one lump!!) they've put the DD up by £3 per month. Logic tells me I will be in credit again next time but the computer says £46
Onward to mortgage now......:rolleyes:Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
:cool:Ok Mortgage sorted.
Following advice received on the MFit thread I've spoken to our mortgage provider and we are able to reduce to term on our mortgage from the current 13 to 10 years which increases the payments to £1130 pm. This will happen from next month. Now the extra payment is coming from the debt fund and although I clearly want to get rid of the debt asap clearly the mortgage is the biggest debt we've got. The new payment will still mean we can throw at the debt fund £1.2k per month and the difference will just have to come from the extra income pot.....no pressure then!
We're planning to overpay the mortgage £500 per month from Jan and once our current deal ends we'll be able to overpay it by however much we want.
I feel good that something positive is happening ref the mortgage and when are current deal ends we'll be in a much more positive position than we were a couple of years ago.
Right next job conservatory roof!! :cool:Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
Woman on a misson here....:T:T
Cons roof sorted and people coming out next week to measure up. This is an insurance claim for a roof which is in bits due to shoddy workmanship 8 years ago. Its been on my list of jobs to do for years and finally I've gotten around to making the claim, getting it approvied and booked the people to come out and sort it. I feel like I've achieved something here. Mind you it will mean the cons will need a big clean out once they've finished ....................a woman's work etc etc :A
Onwards with the list ..... MSing now (avoiding ebaying you'll notice ! :rotfl:)Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
Hi there
I just discovered your diary and have been truly inspired so many thanks for that! I've only managed to read the first few pages but will catch up when I get a chance.
Also I wanted to ask...have you REALLY paid off £28,000 in less than 2 years? If this is what your signature means, I'm in total shock. If I've picked it up wrong and am being an idiot just ignore me!
Good luck with your journey.Debt @ Dec 2009 £10,026.05

Hi thanks for the post and yes thats how much we've paid off
. However have a trawl through the diaries (Hypno's particular) and you'll see far greater amounts paid off.
We've worked very hard to clear our debt and we've been lucky that we've got good incomes which has enabled us to stay above water at the beginning and real make inroads into the debt for the last while!
Its been very hard work and definately had its ups and downs but what a feeling when we are eventually debt freeWorking Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
MS done - Phone job and a bit of a chore at the end but its adding to the totals. Book sold on Green Met another £3 in the kitty.
Row with Next again about my disappearing money. Hopefully my "stroppy mare" escalation will result in my getting my money back before payday and I can pay this off the debt fund. I keep reminding myself that each and every penny helps!
No ebaying yet and doubtful if I will get any done today or even this week now - various meetings and fitness committments (yes I'm on a fitness regime again).
Off to be a domestic goddess and knock together a casserole for tea and go and visit my Mum for a cuppa before collecting the kids from school. All fun in the WHDFW household :rotfl:Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
I think that i'm going for some sort of personal records - how many posts in one day
Next have found my money :j and its winging its way back to my account. That will teach me to be so eager in paying the CC's on payday again - too trigger happy that was my problem. As an apology they are also sending me a £30 gift card as well since there was no reason the money shouldn't have gone straight to my account and they're muckup sorting it out for me. That will be a treat I could use to buy Xmas pressies or I could use for myself - Hell I need something to go with the purple shoes
I'e just realised that we are due a car fund crisis. I pay £200 pm into the car fund which should pay for servicing, tax, insurance, etc for two cars. The fund depleted earlier in the year due to my bus' crisis now has £400 in it and we've got the following due in the next couple of months: OH Insurance, small service and tax (he drives a big 4x4 therefore none of these are cheap) plus my car's tax runs out next month. Its going to be tight with all of that due. I need a plan I fear...
Right casserole made and in oven on timer, kitchen tidied up, swimming bag for after school organised. Trot into town to meet my Mum and collect kids and enjoy the rest of my day off :cool:Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
