Working Hard Debt Diary - Here goes

Progress made over this weekend towards my what I am labelling my Final FFW challenge of paying £1.4k by Xmas. I've managed to pull together to grand total of £83 this weekend towards this total. Not bad for what was actually quite a busy weekend. However £83 does feel a long way off the total!!
I've picked up a couple of MS's which is good but I've not moved the ebaying forward apart from gathering stuff in a central point ready to be listed. I'll be ok once I start doing it but its just the motivation, energy and time to start listing it thats the problem. I'm really not going to get much chance this week with committments and OH's birthday and a cake baking fest for DD's school.
MBing is slowly creeping up, I'v ejust bet through one bookie so I'm now trying to work a few smaller ones so that I get my totals up and past the £300 mark by the end of the week. This amount will help with the £1.4k challenge definately.
The other approach to achieving this target is to stay within budget on all counts. Food as usual has pushed over this month and so has the petrol costs plus the cars will be a challenge over the next month or so.

That's a fantastic amount to make over a weekend, and every penny really does count! I know what you mean about the inspiration for Ebay. I got loads of stuff together on Wednesday and it is all still there, just need to photo it etc.
I can't even talk about budgets anymore, I am obsessed with them and never stick to them. I MUST try harder!
Good luck with your challenge.1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

You can do it! I look forward to reading all about it
Ive just done 30 lengths, and now am waiting for auto glass to come and repair my windscreen which got chipped yesterday thats £10 down the drain and OH is in court this morning for his speeding fine so i'm just waiting to hear how much that will be - dreading it
Im going to do my online shopping & ironing whilst i wait for them both! Might get some ebay items photo'd if time.
Good luck with the challenge - when you've finished that do you want to do me one lol! I know you like a challenge and don't want you to be bored lol! cg xCC Debt: Jan 10 £21,660 now £8,170 hurrah!0 -
I'm sure I can but it feels like quite a challenge from this point. But applying the principle of what I've done all along I'm breaking it down into bite sized chunks and getting the pot upto £400 is the first challenge. To this end I've added another £15 by completing a MS tonight which brings the total to £98 to date.
Well done on 30 lenghts....you are doing so well. Sounds like you've had a very productive day!Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
OH got a £675 fine! & 2 months ban. Better than I expected to be honest. I just hope he learns his lesson. Anyway, enough said about that.
I did all my jobs plus met a mate for a coffee this afternoon so a productive day off - didn't do any ebaying though! Working tomorrow then off again Wednesday. The belts have now been well and truly tightened in the CG household, I intend to go into 2010 a lot lighter (in every way lol!) than we are now.
Well done on the MSing, £98 is a great amount raised, i'm going to renew my fund raising efforts got 2 MS to do this week so its a start. Good luck with your mini target! cgxCC Debt: Jan 10 £21,660 now £8,170 hurrah!0 -
Thats a chunky fine and a ban - nasty but as you've said he needs to learn from it.
Sounds like a productive and social day off - the best sort. I'm working tomorrow (my usual day off) so its going to be mega hectic for me this week. OH's birthday on Friday and DD's cake sale so at some point b/day cake and others need to be made, when is the question.
£98 is a great amount, not all from MS a variety of sources....I definately need to crank it up if I'm going to make this mini (but feeling very large) target at present.
Well done on the fitness regime. A friend at work has put the idea of doing a half marathon into my head and I'm pondering it....that would shift a bit of this excess weight wouldn't it!! Need to ponder that one.
I'm trying to get myself organised and on top of stuff before my studying starts in November - very scary....Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
ooh, what you studying??? I'm a bit of a baker myself lol! Hence the 3+stone i'm carrying
I'm going to gym/swim 3 times a week in an attempt to 1.lose some weight 2. get ski fit and 3. lose some more weight !
The only problem is I come out of said gym/swim and am starving! but I am enjoying it - I haven't got the ankles for outdoor running lol! at least I can hold on in the gym not that that stops me - i once fell off a dance machine at alton towers haha! told you, weak ankles! but thats another story!
Oh I do wish I had a better attentions span, I can only manage 2 things at a time and ive taken my eye off the ball a bit, mind you, i'm back on track now!CC Debt: Jan 10 £21,660 now £8,170 hurrah!0 -
You do make me laugh. :T well done on the exercise front.
I'm starting to study an MA but I'm a little scared at present about where I will find the time but I will and when we are DF I'll have a little more time 'spare'
Added another £13 to the debt fund today which was refund from the water people. Also got the £133 back from Next but I'm not including that in the totals since I've already allowed for that going off the debt this month. So the total in the LC DF is now £106  broken through the £100 barrier.
