    Thanks for posting @welly

It’s still shows on Equifax and Experian but has never showed on call credit.

I actually called Experian and they informed me it would be automatically removed at 00:01 on January the first 2019

And yes I am going to wait up to check 😊

Does she not qualify for the 30hrs free childcare? Must also be a hell of an expensive place, my son was paying just £400 a month for 30hrs a week.

It’s £55 for the full day that I nerd To work full Time hours,
And nope no free 30 hours until she’s 3 years old. She’s 18 months atm

I feel your pain . I have twins and combined childcare bill is £1300 a month!
  • I don’t want to be a devils advocate here but would it be worth taking a ‘break’ from whatever career you are in until she’s 3 and then you get the subsidised funding.. if you are genuinely paying half of a monthly income of £2300 what is the point in working? If you have a partner could you work nights/weekend so you can be with your child more and still take home roughly the same without needing nursery fees or if you are single and your child is under 3 you could give up work and claim benefits temporarily I think it would be around £1,000 a month depending on where you live. Or, could you work part time hours for now which would decrease your childcare bills. I know this isn’t what this is about but I can’t believe that people pay that sort of money. Luckily I work in the NhS and they have agreed a flexi contract so we can avoid any childcare bills it’s massively helpful xx

Thank you for your input and advice clouds :)

I am a single mum, my career is very important to me and also very important to my little girls future. I’m working hard at the minute because I know there’s room for a promotion in my department so a career break isn’t really an option.

My little girl is everything to me and all this hard work and hours I do is so I can provide her with the best start in life possible. It will be a lot better for me when I can claim those 30 hours free childcare but in my eyes it’s worth struggling financially for a year and a bit for the benefit of my career.

    So!

    The default has gone!

From Experian! But not Equifax :(

I’m slightly annoyed because the average age of my credit accounts has gone down too 17 months which has had a negative effect apparently.

I did a quick eligibility search and I’m still getting no decent offers at all :(

Do eligibility sites use all 3 CRA’S? And will it take sometime to update? Or now that I don’t see it on Experian will everyone not see it?

I’m hoping that I’m still in the same position because it’s still showing on Equifax.

I know scores are pointless but just incase anyone’s interested I gained 331 points on Experian for a settled default being removed.

EDIT* also I had 2 settled accounts drop off my file on the same day as the default. Both fully paid accounts. Now I have no settled accounts at all and that is also having a negative impact.

  • It depends what date the default has

You also still need to build a credit history - having one default come off doesn’t mean you’re back in the “good books” too apply for mainstream products again straight away.

Of course account longevity will drop as an account has been removed - ignore any scores and “negative factors” as they are just there to sell you improvement products that you don’t need.

I have 10 active accounts all with no late payments what so ever 4 are over 3 years old so I have history ( obviously some are utilities, car finanace, credit card, mobile phone, car insurance, and my two current accounts)

    The default was issued 01/01/2013

I’m not expecting to get the absolute best deals on the market.

But I would like to get a balance transfer card with a decent 0% deal so I can transfer the high interest balance to it and actually start paying off the balance.

I’m not going to try get a loan as I think getting a balance transfer and closing the high interest card is a less risky way for me to get out of that debt.
