They've probably been mentioned here before, but just in case, I thought I'd mention them again. They have a literal burn time of 9 full days. Available on that big online store.
Whatever, is it just us that's never found a candle over about an inch diameter which will actually burn properly all the way down? We long ago gave up on the really chunky Ikea ones because they always started guttering.
Saw a pepper on tiktok had them in her preps and she also said she had tested them. I noticed that if you bought in multiples, the price per candle significantly decreases, so if you can share an order with someone it would make it much cheaper.
Shane about the Ikea candles, as rhey are the ones I just bought 🤦♀️ oh well, some big candles is better than no big candles.

Another good book to look out for in charity shops - The Good Housekeeping Cookery compendium published in the 1950s. It's basically a bound copy of the GH recipe booklets they used to publish.14

The tablets are more effective for younger people and children as they are at greater risk . Apparently as you get older you are less likely to take up the radiation via your thyroid and therefore need less of a dosage ( don't take this as gospel!) .I bought enough to last the family for two weeks with the boys having the majority of the doses. They are still in date and I would use them even if they were not.8

I don't think they sell them in adult and child dosages, so to speak. I believe they just do the smaller dosage as standard and you take more tablets per day as an adult. I'm wary of saying anything more re dosage as don't want it to be construed as medical advice, which is against board rules.
Instead, the NHS and the CDC both offer information online about appropriate dosages and when it should be taken, and how long for.February wins: Theatre tickets12 -

Well, so much for real-world shopping. Woke up at sparrowfart this bright fine morning so guzzled my porridge and hopped on the bike for an expedition to Morrisons for the first time in two years, intent upon the purchase of three items, all on their site at considerably lower prices than Tesco. Got there not long after they opened, and lo - none of two of them and the section in which the third should have been has shrunk to about a quarter of the size it used to be, with only expensive stuff in it now.
So I thought I might as well stock up a bit more on my favourite instant coffee, which last night was on their site at 50p a jar cheaper than Tesco. This morning in the real world it's now the same price ...

Just bought a tripod for hanging cooking pots over fires. Boys like cooking over fires so I thought summer time we could cook outside. We have a large outdoor wood fired cooking grill that was given to us. I think it is supposed to have charcoal in the base but we always put oak sticks in and let them burn down a bit and it is fine. Just on the lookout for a Dutch oven second-hand or titanium camping pots. I probably have something that will do atm but better to have extra.
Si-Clist welcome to todays real world shopping! Gaps on shelves, items not available, having to shop round for best price on things like coffee and then hoping they are there! Develop a grab it while you can mindset and stocking up when you do actually find what you are looking for!

Ref "grab it while you can", my old Granny was always on about that (and according to her sister had been since the first war). "Never go out without a string bag" was one of her favourite sayings.
Anybody else actually still got a string bag? We're sure we have two somewhere. We know one's red and the other's a sort of green, but neither of us know where they are ...We're all doomed13 -
Between Amazon and Sainsbugs and Costco I've managed well for a few years, so I'll just stick with this too, I can't manage round a big shop now so there's no choice really.
