Well, we are doing a different type of prepping here. WonderCollie will cross the Rainbow Bridge on Friday afternoon. Old age is terrible.
He is being spoilt rotten. Tomorrow he is going to McDonalds for a Happy Meal. He's been failing for a while and a few of his dog walking buds have stopped by for a sniff and a wee on the front lawn.
It's never easy to say goodbye.
Have to leave now, it's getting misty here.

Have to leave now, it's getting misty here.I'm so sorry to read this he seems to have been around the forums forever but what a lovely send off you're giving him.Lots of canine and feline forum friends have crossed the bridge so he'll have company. If he sees a tabby in a glittery cat suit that'll be our Oliver dancing with his beloved Freddie Mercury.Gentle hugs to you all and his new little lady friend. They are always with us in spirit , never forgotten.pollyx

wondercollie, that is so sad. Our animal housemates hold our hearts in their paws forever. Just love that old boy and give him a fab final few days. He may be apprehensive on Friday but if you are with him right up to the moment of death he'll be comforted by your presence. One life - your life - live it!17

Wondercollie, so sorry to hear that this is what's to come in the next few days. Giving him the treats he loves so much is lovely. I'm kind of welling up myself on your behalf, and yes, there'll be many mse companions on the rainbow bridge. Thinking of you and him both xx2023: the year I get to buy a car13

Oh, my heart is breaking for you - at least you get a chance to treat him, we only have had the one dog that vet had to help but sadly it was a decision that had to be made quickly as she was suffering so much so no chance of anything. Others did pass at home but of course didn't know when so couldn't chance any unusual treats in case it made them Iller, but not suffering so vet agreed no need for help to pass. He will be ready - dogs always know when it's their time and he will be grateful you are doing this. Have a wonderful day with him today and take lots of photos and videos (you might not feel up to looking at them for a while but they will give you so much comfort in the future. I have a page on FB called Dog Loss its ok to Grieve if you want to pop a post with his photo in there, I will add it to the Forever in Our Hearts album - no costs or advertising, or details needed, just a place to share our babies for as long as FB exists and doesn't charge for pages like that.wondercollie said:Well, we are doing a different type of prepping here. If you're on a fix then you will lose it, as fixes generally are tied to a DD.

Do check the T&C's, as some of them have it written into them that they can change the tarriff (even if it is a 'fixed' contract) if you change the way you pay (I guess they consider it a breach of contract). So, if you are currently on a cheaper fixed rate than the variable and any other fixed rates on the market, you really don't want to risk losing that.MingVase said:So what's the position if you instruct your bank not to pay/cancel the DD and sit bak and wait for them to start yeling? Then you tell them take what I owe out of my credit balance. Would that work?February wins: Theatre tickets10
