Thankyou kacie, I wasn't sure if different brands were different, I shall research a little more.kacie said:
I think the main difference is how much they will charge the device. I have few that do one full charge but I know you can get ones that will do moreThriftygifty said:Is there much difference in power banks? We haven't got any and thinking of adding to DH Christmas gifts...7 -

Thankyou kacie, I wasn't sure if different brands were different, I shall research a little more. It's not the brand that makes the difference, it's how many "mah" or more correctly "mAh" they will store/provide. Basically, the more the merrier, but also the bigger/heavier. Personally we've found a small 6,000mAh one extremely useful but we also have a 20,000mAh one in the BOB. It's amazing how long they stay fully charged! One thing that might get a bit confusing - I've just noticed that some sellers are now referring to so-many thousand mAh as so-many "K".We're all doomed10

Nice oneNargleblast said:Anyway, Prepping-wise, I followed Si-Clist's suggestion of getting some Nido powder the other week, and used some yesterday to make custard instead of using fresh milk. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted.
Just out of curiosity, may I ask if you found the instructions on the tin regarding quantity a bit confusing?

I brought some baskets to store crisps in , rather than having multi packs half buried under stuff, this in turn lead on to sorting out other cupboards so we are now turning out all the crockery and planning to keep only what we need/use (3 of us in house do not need 25 dinner plates in any situation!). Its actually a really positive process as I can choose my favourites and make more space! Next need to go through cooking/baking pots/pans/bowls, but thinking that's for another day!15

There have been threats of power cuts this winter and I'm all electric - apart from a solid fuel stove. I thought of getting something like camping gaz (for use outside). Does anyone have portable back ups?

Yes, I wasn't sure if it wasn't supposed to be in tablespoons or not, and the weight mentioned was a bit random. I used my scales to weigh out that amount with the 250mls of water and it seemed to work. I made some up last night to supplement the rapidly vanishing fresh milk and put it in the fridge. My son used it on his cereal without comment. Thanks for the heads up, it's a useful standby in the cupboard, better than that Marvel stuff.Si_Clist said:

Thanks Nb. It is indeed heaped tablespoons. Nestlé really ought to get a grip of that: not only does the wording on the tin not make it clear, but last time I looked, the instructions for it on Tesco's site still said 3 teaspoons! TBH it was only when we finally bit the bullet and invested a tenner in one of Argos' wonderful digital scales that the doubt here was finally removed.Nargleblast said:Yes, I wasn't sure if it wasn't supposed to be in tablespoons or not ...
