Yes really. They are drunk women. Adults. Not 'wee lasses'. Is getting that drunk a good idea? No, but that is one poor choice. One that men make, but without the fear that it will make them and easier rape or murder victim.
Also notice how you referred to that man as 'a rugby player'. Not a silly wee lad. Language matters.
Getting drunk obviously leads to increased chances of accidents and injuries, it shouldn't lead to an increased chance of being raped. And it certainly shouldn't lead to victims being blamed for it. Direct the anger and disdain where it belongs - the perpetrators. They are the ONLY ones responsible for such acts. Regardless of how drunk someone is or isn't!February wins: Theatre tickets25 -
I'm with you @euronorris . I think that we become used to using language in a certain way that perpetrates a mode of thinking without even realising. And I also think that older members of society can dismiss it as so much floof because they see it as abdicating responsibility, namby pamby or snowflake. I include myself in that too. When the black lives matter movement started I really did have to question some of the things I thought , not because I thought them with any particular conviction, it's just that I didn't question the way the language I was thinking in was moulding my thoughts.I also think after a certain age you're more resistant to questioning your beliefs and opening yourself to new thoughts that you may think of quite radical.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi18

I just wish the media would not continue with photos and videos of the criminals who commit these acts. Many of them enjoy the notoriety, especially after they have been locked up and prevented from continuing their foul behaviour.14

They are silly wee lasses because that is a much nicer term to post on a public forum than what I and many other parents call them whilst they are being like badly-behaved children.
Perhaps this should be taken to a different thread rather than diverting a long-standing Prepping thread.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I think it's rather naive to think that we can educate to solve the problem. There will always be men like Sutcliffe etc. Therefore women should never put themselves in a situation of vulnerability. Getting drunk and incapable is just stupid.12

I told my kids when they were growing up that they should never ever let themselves get into a situation (I.e. drunk) where they were incapable of maintaining their own safety or looking out for the safety of their friends. They have both followed that advice.
Sadly, there will always be absolute scum (of all genders) who get their kicks out of hurting others. Unless you find a way of hunting them all down and killing them, people like that will always exist. The least the rest of us can do is take on board the fact that not everyone in this world is good, kind and caring, and make sure we make it as difficult as possible for those with bad intentions.
Anyway, Prepping-wise, I followed Si-Clist's suggestion of getting some Nido powder the other week, and used some yesterday to make custard instead of using fresh milk. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it tasted. One life - your life - live it!13 -
Arguing gets us nowhere and is not prepping, but when I said silly wee lassies I meant that. Lots of them are very young, def under 18 and shouldn't be drinking. And DoQ absolutely right. If we imply women aren't able to look out for themselves then that alone is an insult to women.Off now to shift stuff to get more preps into the microscopic kitchen6
