Wasps. Has anyone else had a "summer" with next to no wasps around? I reckon we've probably seen half a dozen at most, and for the first time ever we even got right through pickle and relish production without the kitchen being full of the blessed things.
A positive attitude won't solve all your problems, but with luck it'll annoy enough people to make the effort worthwhile.14 -
Where I lived before we hardly ever saw a wasp. that was at 300m up. Now down here we seem to be covered in the bloody things! I bought a pack of 12 wasp killer spray online to deal with them.

We've hardly seen any wasps in the garden or house, @Si_Clist, but the shed on the next-door plot at the allotment seems to have a wasp nest; they're buzzing around it like mad, low down. Not on my plot, though, but there's not much to attract them; they don't seem particularly interested in raspberries & that's the only fruit there just now. Usually they're all over our windfall apples & cherry plums at home, but not a sniff of them yet this year.Angie - GC April 24 £432.06/£480: 2024 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 10/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)10

Not seen many in the garden. I presume they all live in legoland now as I saw a million of them there!February wins: Theatre tickets9

Did the usual start of the month big shop today at Ald! and lots more empty spots. Lots of gaps in dried fruit (no raisins, mango, cranberries, mixed fruit), no passata or tomato puree, no cashews, no cream crackers (but managed to pick up the last box of oatcakes), very low stocks of sugar, flour, and oil. Think I'll be getting things as and when I can find them.

Hi, a long time lurker here!
I was wondering how many freezers do people have for prepping (know not ideal for power cuts). At the moment i have 2 big drawers in an american style fridge freezer, in kitchen, then in utility room i have a tall larder freezer and a small chest freezer. I have room for one more appliance in utility room, an undercounter one, and am trying to decide between a freezer or a tumble dryer.
My freezers are all rammed at moment, home grown produce, bread (buy reduced whenever i can) etc. But trying to buy stuff for christmas and i really don't have room,
There are only 3 of us , adults, other 2 , my kids, are autistic, and really fussy eaters, so i tend to like a good supply of stuff they like because when i can't get it we go into a crisis!
But a tumble dryer would be nice as well and 4 freezers seems a little over top.10
