Have rediscovered on my cookery book shelf a veggie burgers book which has recipes using a TVP base as well as bean based burgers which all look pretty tasty and for which I have in the ingredients already so I'm planning to work home made veggie burgers into the menu once a week from now on to keep the housekeeping cost down and also to help the planet. I'm not overly fond of meat burgers but I do like a good bean burger in a bun with dill pickles and ketchup, mmmmm yummy!11

That sounds good, boazu! Any chance of a basic recipe? Is it just the tvp with mashed beans?2026 Fashion on the ration

For those interested, Jack Monroe's carrot, cumin and kidney bean burger is not too faffy and they freeze well so you can make a batch

I'm not keen on TVP so these work well for me.
My DD eats all sorts of tofu, quorn and other 'fake meats' but i'm not keen myself. then again, i do eat meat albeit not loads.
Does anyone have a good veggie bolognaise recipe?I wanna be in the room where it happens17 -
Tofu isn't fake meat! But as for the rest... yuk. As for seitan, all you have to do is say it out loud ...
I use lentils in bolognese, masses of vegetables and silken tofu
