Karmacat said:MingVase said:Vegetables.*shudder*Not the wisest thing to ask Karmacat, She might just tell you and the whole appalling merry go round of the "missing" will begin again. It's nearly 2am and I'm propped up in bed with my old not so nice friend Insomnia. It's become an unwelcome companion over the winter months so anyone who triggers the ming/mar with her "Landscape gardening" "poison sweeties from Alnwick" etc, etc will have to step in and cope with her until I have some decent sleep.Better not to disturb the beast. I will never recover fully from that giant spider she posted even though it was made from straw.pollyx

Sympathies for the insomnia, Pollyanna, very unpleasant. I get it about 50% of the time, and its *always* horrible. As for Mar/Ming ... she's a one-off with her vegetable obsession, I'll give you that2023: the year I get to buy a car16

Excuse moi but I do eat the V things. Just I machete them to bits then drown them in soup first.
I find it curiously satisfying.

I do the same with veg to get them into DH. He swears he can't eat spinach, but I often add a few lumps (frozen) to curry or soup. It is a herb isn't it? Is this against his human rights?

VJsmum said:Do you have a good lentil bolognaise recipe, greenbee? We use a modified version of the Napolina one here (Lentil bolognese), using Green Lentils. I'm a confirmed and avid meat eater, but fine this excellent. Mrs Fiver uses 175g of green lentils cooked first (rather than tins), a spash of balsamic vineger, mushrooms (if we have any), and a veg stock cube. Leftovers tend to be converted into a veggie chilli a couple of days later.A good starting point to tweak to your taste, anyway. The Napolina site has many good recipes. Hope that helps.

This all makes me think of Spitting Image with Thatcher and the cabinet at lunch. The waitress asking what she'll have, she says Steak. Raw . Waitress says and what about the vegetables? Maggie says they'll have the same! I loved that

It is horrible . i've been yawning non stop since last week and apart from nodding off briefly a couple of times no proper sleep. The weather isn't so wet, windy and horrible today so hoping the arthritis and fibro flares will begin to abate. The surgery and I have been trying for three weeks to actually arrange my first jab at a fairly distant hub and i haven't been well enough to go. Speaking to them earlier they've sorted it with the pharmacy which dispenses dds monthly meds which i ordered last Friday. So wait for the notification they're ready and have the jab at the same time..The vegetable obsession doesn't bother me it's her "hobbies" and " interests" that do. I think I preferred the Roman phase at least it made me revisit Friends , Romans, Countrymen. I did think at first she was calling me a Parrot until I caught on, mind you it's just occurred to me she may have been after our ears. Ear soup with no green stuff anyone?pollyX
