Well, I've just brought our next Tesco delivery forward to sparrowfart tomorrow so as to make certain we get the six tins of Nestlé Nido that we need to top up the stockpile, so once that's here we're as sorted as we can be (he says, with fingers crossed) ...We're all doomed16

I'm also getting wobbly about DS at school, unfortunately/fortunately I can't decide which, he is loving school and playing with the other children, one of them even being so kind as to give him a runny nose and sneezes. The flow chart from school says to send him tomorrow. I had an email today about DS school flu vaccine it said they are aiming to do them between Oct - Dec!

@Thriftygifty my DD was the same. Had a snotty nose, and sneezing after 3 days at school. No temp, cough or any other symptoms though. And she got over it within 48 hours. I think majority of her class had before the end of last week. It's impossible for us to avoid all germs, especially when they are in school, but i keep trying to remind myself that there are so many other viruses in circulation, that there is a higher chance she'll catch one of them than covid-19. She also is loving school and friends etc, so I'm just trying to focus on the positive. She is already learning phonetics and repeating it a lot at home, etc, so i tell myself that's super important and to focus on that and the positives.
Flu vaccine for her will be im November. Several parents have told me thats normal timing. They will be focusing on the more vulnerable population first.February wins: Theatre tickets15 -
I've got a flu jab booked at a pharmacy for later this week. Have decided I can't be doing with waiting to see if the Govt are going to do jabs for all the over-50s (my age cohort) or if the NHS tweak their eligibility requirements back to include persons with my kind of pre-existing conditions. My hospital consultant wants me to have the jab, and I'll get it, and hope it's a bit better than the 50% effectiveness achieved in seven of the past ten years.
Other than that, I've topped up the stocks with some flour and may be buying some paint, haven't decided yet. If there's a danger of being on lockdown while well, I shall want to do something productive with my time.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

It's taken me 2 hours but finally finished A*da order! I *think* that i've ordered everything, it looks quite bland but I should have a range of ingredients to make/bake a few different things as and when required. Depending on deliveries and keeping my fingers crossed for A*sda carrying on, I should be ok just to do normal shop rolling forward rather than double budget each week which has been a little scary however there is now 5 of us. We have 10 boxes of Weetabix already, so that will keep the 4yr old happy and not disrupt his breakfast routine.
Drove DS to school this morning we got there and he felt warm, he is still denying that he is sick, we had 5 minutes to decide what to do, I walked him into school well away from anyone else and spoke to the teacher outside from a distance and put the ball back in their court as to what we should do stay or go?! She said that there is currently a cold sweeping their 2 joined classes for reception so he stayed, I would just have huge guilt if my child were to infect another, maybe I shouldn't have sent him? My concern is right now if we were to have to isolate our finances would be drastically impacted and my husbands place of work would get in an almighty strop as he is the only one in his role and can not work from home, will companies start penalising people on the quiet. Also the talk of the £500 for people on benefits to self isolate has bugged me, I guess we fall though the loop hole, I understand why they have done it however there are a lot of people not on benefits and on low incomes, why can't the SSP be raised slightly if it is due to Covid? Would people abuse it?! Just thinking out loud.
Does anyone else love Borris hand gestures it makes his speeches a lot more entertaining also his hair is looking a lot flatter lately, does someone write his tacky phases or do you think he had an input. I'm really tired I'm rambling.11 -
Our DD is an early years teacher, and last week she had a sore throat because, as she says, all the children share their germs once they are at school after the summer. It happens every year, so she rode it out, had some throat lozenges and now she's ok. I'm just saying because it's the same every year, but with Covid this year, parents are going to worry more about everything, but sometimes it's just the usual stuff. I also worry about her too, even though she's all grown up now! It's part of the job description!2025 Fashion on the ration

Mrs CD I'm sure your daughter is like my sons teacher and amazing with the children and just taking the Covid thing in her stride. I just wish the schools had the testing kits that they were meant to have on standby.
