I blame you lot, I never used to prep until I came in here, I read kittie's posts and thought she made a lot of sense. My own mum always had empty cupboards.Anyway I'm really concerned at how things are going, we've never been in such perilous times in my lifetime anyway, and I'm prepping harder than ever. All of the kitchen and half the spare back bedroom being used for stashing now. I could probly squeeze in another couple of elephants...19

Not so much a second wave, more like the first wave is still here but they stopped reporting the numbers.

I don't know. I keep a running total now of the number of daily total infection locally to see what's going on. In the first few weeks of July, there were one or to a week. Yesterday it was 42 a week. I'm prepping like a motherclucker.....

Well I am feeling a bit better this morning, still washed out but not coughing.
I too am increasing the stores despite having a lot already put away. The veg garden is providing so much produce I cant quite believe it. I am trying to keep a track of how many kilos of fruit and veg I am using or freezing as so far it is quite eye opening. As for stocking up on things from the supermarket I am adding extra every weekly shop.
I follow an american prepper site Survival mum with Lisa Bedford and it seems they are having very similar supply problems as we have had. Ok as with most things American it seems they go bigger and more extreme but the basic principles really hold true for here in the UK.
What are people stocking up on? I know we have covered quite a lot of this already but perhaps a list may jog someones memory to add a particular item to their preps. I for one forgot about adding extra tin foil until I saw Thriftwizards post about extra for her hats!
I am stocking up on, loo roll, all types of flour, yeast, tin toms, beans dried and tinned, pasta many types , rice, sugars, UHT milk, dried milk, tea bags and coffee.
Hopefully if the weather improves I will be harvesting many tomatoes and putting them in jars or bottling for future recipes. I am looking at how to store veg such as beetroot/carrots/potatoes/squash as I know I will have loads of these.
As I drive around I am noting where there are apple trees and other fruits that I can scrump! It seems they grow on the sides of roads and in parks quite readily. I have noticed the remains of an old hedgerow with several of the small plum trees along a residential road. The council spent a fortune planting an orchard on a totally unsuitable site. Many of the trees have snapped or are leaning over but some have survived, not helped by some idiot turning sheep in with them! I am keeping an eye on them but I think they are too young to have much of a harvest this year.
Looking forward to seeing what I have missed or forgotten! I am sure I have!! Btw wine/beer/cider are also on my list!

Washing up liquid, bleach, tissues, herbs, spices, condiments, laundry stuff, shampoo, aftershave, perfume, soda bicarb, drinking chocolate, stock cubes, gravy granules, freezer bags, toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorant, shaving foam, lady products, pet food, salt, and in my case also cat litter, as at 20 years old and going blind my furry owner is now an indoor kitty.
Just off the top of my head to add to your list Elaine.
