@CRANKY40 - I just saw the news. Please pass on my condolences to his wife and family, when you next have contact. Unrecordings was a kind and inspiring person.

Thank you for your good wishes. I will try to update next week when discharged. This will be a multi-month convalescence so will have plenty of time to read and read online while the bits & bobs are knitting back together.
Just adding my own good wishes to the list, GQ, and my word, your surgery is on Friday and you'll be discharged next week? I suppose home is the healthiest place, to be honest, isn't it ... hope you've got healthy, easy to prepare and eat, stuff, around for you.Elaine, hoping your test comes up negative. Mine is at 13.30 today, will be my first, necessitated by the hospital admission.Elaine - yes, hope the test is negative. I really hope you can get through the fatigue as well - it's horrible, as greenbee can testify. Mine isn't covid related, and its bad enough. As for my own prepping - I've just realised I don't need to buy stamps today, from a shop - I've been putting off opening up new printer cartridges for a long time, but today's the day, I can buy postage online (I have lots of unused stamps from stamp collecting days I've been using up, but £1.63 in postage would leave no room for the address!).2023: the year I get to buy a car12 -
Long standing fatigue is really awful. Not dangerous or life threatening but no treatment,, no help and no understanding. And life is such a bloody struggle, day after day after day.

Have been covid-tested, it was perfectly fine, not awful like I thought it would be. The hospital can take up to 48 hrs to get the results back, hence doing it well ahead. I am now to be admitted the day before surgery, due to the complexities of managing my pre-existing conditions thru the surgical process. Means I won't have to set off about 05.30 am on surgery day, which is such a relief. Yippee!
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
