Well test came back at 6am this morning negative thank god! I am still coughing and feeling tired and awful but at least OH can go to work knowing I have a virus but not the virus. It looks like he maybe showing symptoms of my virus, which I hope not as it is a horrible one! I believe it is the same virus I had the other week which has come back for a second go. It has exactly the same symptoms and I doubt if I have had time to develop enough antibodies to totally fight it off. One major worry is how I managed to get it. I have been using hand sanitiser, masks, gloves etc and avoiding people. My main worry is I managed to get a virus despite my precautions so what can I do more to protect myself apart from totally exiling myself and my family. This would obviously be impractical as we need to continue with life, business and eventually school in September.
Good luck for Friday GQ hope everything goes smoothly and you recover swiftly.

Relieved for you, Elaine, but hoping that whatever you do have passes swiftly & you're able to bounce back.
Slipped into L!dls this afternoon in passing on another errand, and stocked up on tinfoil as they had plenty. It won't go to waste if it isn't needed. The DDs were slightly perplexed, knowing we already had a spare roll in the cupboard, so I told them it was for lining my hats...Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)18 -
That's a relief Elaine, Do you think you could have picked it up from any of the animals if they have been in contact with anyone at the gates? It's a minefield, we have a cat however she is an outdoor cat and likes to drift between households, we've been telling the children not to stroke her which feels cruel however its impossible to stop our middle child constantly putting his fingers in his mouth.
Well Thrifty household hasn't exactly taken a step forward, more what feels as though a step sideways, DH has returned to work however it is nowhere near what it was beforehand and we are not out of the woods just yet, we are continuing to keep our heads down. Next week I am making a conscious effort to start selling things we no longer need whilst we are in the eye of the storm. I'm slowly stocking the larder and starting to work out winter plans. Does anyone have any suggestions for other threads to follow?
PS - Hope everything goes ok GQ17 -
I was on another group, totally unconnected with prepping or anything remotely like it. And one person asked if anybody was stocking up for Brexit or the second wave of virus. And one by one, about 80% of the posters came in slowly and shamefacedly admitted that they too were adding extra to the shopping. Reasons were from Brexit to COVID to the flu to experiences of being shocked at how fast the supermarket shelves emptied. I think we better speed things up a bit...

I think that is what shocked me as much as anything - the speed at which items disappeared. I was prepped and expecting problems, but the sheer speed at which things vanished was stunning.16

Can't work out how to edit.
I also find it quite concerning that I appear to be in total agreement with a fierce little lady from Oop North who can't be trusted with effilumps.16 -
