I’m not watching on tv but I see the Guardian has quoted Boris as saying “it is important that we hope for the best, but plan for the worst” wrt Christmas. At least he seems to have grasped the basis of prepping!Original mortgage free date: November 2044Current mortgage free date: November 2038Chipping away...11

Yes - we just need Jacob Rees-Mogg to tell us that there will be peace in our time and all will be well. I am upping some of my stores as I have seen what works best and what doesn't thanks to lockdown. I found that although I had plenty of ideas for dinners, and breakfast is nearly always porridge, lunches were a bit more difficult. Not totally sure why other than not being able to nip out and get whatever I fancied, or eating out and about. Food stores are pretty much back to optimum level now though, also cleaning/toiletries - moving on to more practical stuff but trying to reduce outgoings as well. Blankets etc. have been washed and I have just added some much needed undies, but need some new sturdy trainer-type footwear. Also trying to sort out the shed of doom as there are things at the back which need to be more accessible. Car needs to be sorted too - I had the 6 month extension for MOT due to the virus restrictions in April but it really needs a good service too so will book that in.Jojo_the_Tightfisted said:
All over by Christmas, apparently, according to BJ.
How wonderful to hear those words. So reassuring.16 -
Does that mean they're going to accelerate things so that we're all dead by then?Jojo_the_Tightfisted said:

I was much amused earlier this week to discover that the German media now generally refer to him as "Bullsh!t Boris".Jojo_the_Tightfisted said:All over by Christmas, apparently, according to BJ.

By November, according to the Government, our lives should be something like back to normal as regards work and leisure activities. Just in time for the usual winter bugs and flu season. If we have a second wave of Covid 19 on top of that we could find ourselves back in lockdown again, and this time without the beautiful spring weather. With this in mind, what preparations will we need to make, bearing in mind what we've learned from our experiences so far this year? One life - your life - live it!13

Stock up with antidepressants! It will be cold, dull, dark with flu and covid flourishing. And of course Brexit on the horizon. Sounds like the perfect storm to me.Nargleblast said:By November, according to the Government, our lives should be something like back to normal as regards work and leisure activities.
