Interesting reading here, re preparing for a possible winter Covid-19 outbreak. On the right hand side you can download several documents giving more detail.14

@elaine241 - they now say that swab (Antigen) tests need to be done between days 4 & 6 in order to detect the virus so it may be that yours was too late, and the same goes for your son’s later ones. If he had one positive then assume he has the virus (from what I understand false positives are unlikely), that you probably have it and that the rest of the family might. It sounds like FIL and friend weren’t likely to be in close enough contact to be at risk but should still be careful.14

I began to feel Slightly sorry for banks & other places where they ask you to remove your bike helmet before entering... Then found my local branch which by virtue of its heritage construction will never manage a one way system & will struggle with even metre plus has been closed for the time being & I have to go another 12 miles. At which point I was about to lose my sense of humour but a kindly child reminded me I had coached them through paying in cheques by phone...
elaine241 - very best of luck!13 -
We have pretty much maintained our stores, having replenished them after having to dip into them previously. There are a few things that need topping up again, but not massively so and I think we are currently in a better position now than we were in March.
Doing all of our food shopping online for this length of time has it made me easier for me to know what we actually get through each week, and where we can cut back etc (crisps/chocolate). Could probably do with getting another 25kg sack of bread flour soon.
We have masks, and filters, and I can make more (masks, that is). And plenty gloves and hand gel. Keeping on top of vitamin supply. Took advantage of a good deal on DDs ones, so have a 6 month supply for her, and 3 months for us. I should probably look at topping up spare toothbrushes, toothpaste and getting some shampoo bars in, and conditioner. Think we have plenty of soap! Lol
Garden doing OK. Had a bit of a move around/tidy/sort out on Sunday. Gave things a good feed. Sorted out some separate pots for carrots, which we sowed. Sowed some more radish, beetroot and spring onions. Tomatoes hanging on in there, and picked first cherry tomato today. Strawberries still going, blueberries almost done, beans now in full swing, but aphids still a problem, so going to get a spray, my conventional methods are not working! And, happily, the second raspberry came that popped up this spring is nice and tall and now has flower buds sprouting all over it!! And the rhubarb is having a second lease of life, so fingers crossed there!
To do:
Top up toilet rolls, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo bars, conditioner, bread flour, long life milk.
Purchase late season seed potatoes, aphid spray (organic and bio friendly if possible) and garlic bulbs for autumn planting.February wins: Theatre tickets10 -

I've ordered a mask from Virustatic Shields. They seem to be legit, they use a patented Viruferrin-impregnated fabric, you wear it as a buff i.e. tubular scarf type thing that you pull up over your nose and mouth. As I already wear buffs, I thought it might be a good idea for myself. Quite pricey at £20 but they can be worn for 200 hours before needing a wash.11
