Let us know how you get on. The other thing I would mention is that it may not smell all that sour and may not look all that bubbly but if you taste it you will be able to tell if it's doing what it should. Mine never has more than a lot of dots on the surface but it tastes tart and makes a good loafIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!14

Si_Clist said:Point noted, although I really don't know what to make of that, because if it's true, it's a blatantly misleading listing which Amazon should have removed by now. All I know for sure is that the yeast's cracking good stuff, and nothing in my dealing direct with Fermipan has raised any doubt that I was dealing with a reputable firm.Edited to add that they don't seem to make a 125gm pack, so I fail to see how 500gm could be split between 4 packs ...

It's lovely waking up to the potential second wave story and the predicted numbers, lets hope we can try and avoid that one! We finally bought a mask, I have been hesitant up until now, not because I don't agree with them, more because we haven't been going out at all and there are so many and I don't know which to buy. We ended up buying a reusable black one which has a built in filter and apparently you can wash it up to 50 times, "The equivalent to FFP2 / N95 filtration category (Standard EN14683: 2019 + AC2019) Using its triple layer fabric composition it allows your breathability to be maximised (20Pa /cm2) and provides optimum comfort for long periods of wear." It said you could wash it at 60 online but on the packet it says 40, it says large my husband must have a huge head and it is not remotely comfortable to wear, it also says something about having to iron it to activate the antibacterial and hydrophobic treatment?! I'm not convinced. Can anyone recommend what mask we should be looking at or advice as I am lost, there seems to be more and more looking like a fashion accessory, Next are selling them for £22!!!12

You don't need a mask that is designed for long periods of wear. If you drive to the shops you don't need to wear face coverings in your own car, you just put it on as soon as you go into the shop and take it off once you leave. The reason for wearing face coverings in shops is because they are closed, sometimes confined spaces with potentially several other people in there, so risk of infection rises. I would not worry about getting some high tech expensive medical grade mask, a scarf or bandana will do the job. Ideally a mask would have three layers of fabric in it but any face covering is better than nothing. Lots of people sew their own masks, there are I believe instructions for these online. I am astounded the Government are not making it mandatory until 24th, it should be with immediate effect. Everyone will have something at home they can use, mask, scarf, shawl, bandana, piece of scrap material, big hanky, old pillowcase, whatever. One life - your life - live it!21

Not sure. I have half a dozen neoprene type masks. I've only worn one twice and that was on visits to the vet with poorly dog. After about 5 seconds my face was very hot and sweaty. Horrid things.12

So the govt has changed 'face coverings' back to 'masks, I guess the public is now able to distinguish medical grade masks from everything else? I'm not a huge supporter of mask-wearing, considering how many ineffective types are out there, and how badly I see people handling/wearing their masks, pulling them on and off by the front with their hands, not covering their noses, probably not washing them often enough, wearing them until they are moist and of little protection, etc. I would wear one, obviously, if required to do so, but I have very little faith in them. Plus the govt is still waiting another 10 days before implementing their new policy!

Why on earth are people making all this fuss? And why on earth would you wait for Boris the Muppet to tell you to do it? Cover your nose and mouth in enclosed busy spaces people, take responsibility for your own health!

Yes right, Ming, face coverings will not guarantee 100% that you won't catch the disease, especially as they don't cover your eyes, but they will reduce the chance of you spreading or receiving infected droplets so it's worth doing. It is down to us to take personal responsibility. I seem to remember the rule about masks on public transport had a similar time delay before being made law, and look at some of the horrifying pictures of people jammed together on buses and London's Underground trains! One life - your life - live it!18
