Floss said:Elaine, could I ask what your timeline was from first symptoms to your test results
Today after receiving the news my son was positive, I looked online for a drive through test and managed to book and attend in under an hour. The only reason I booked a second test was that I have a feeling they mixed up my test with my sons. I will expect the results tomorrow.

Oh Elaine what a worry, I am so sorry14

Sorry to hear that, Elaine. I am sure you are a sensible person but until you know for definite who has it and who doesn't, best assume it's in the house somewhere and apply strict hygiene precautions. No physical contact unless unavoidable, use masks, wash hands between interactions, everyone to keep their distance from each other, no going out in public anywhere, including schools. Schools to be informed your household may have the virus. Hell, you probably know better than me what to do. I do hope you get confirmation of what's what very quickly so you can deal with it.One life - your life - live it!15

Elaine, the reason I asked is that there needs to be a level of viral load in the bloodstream to register in the test, and I did wonder if it were a little too quick...with your son testing positive & being asymptomatic (as some children are according to the Medical Director at my children's hospital) I think you are being very prudent in arranging a second test.
I had what my medical colleagues & medics in my family all believe to be a mild dose of Covid back in late March but my workplace antibody test was negative, so I'm none the wiser - either it was not enough to trigger an antibody reaction or it was "just" a bad cold/sore throat/ tight chest /headache /fatigue /brain fog thing.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I work in a senior position in schools and if you have not already done so, it might be worth you e-mailing the school that they know as soon as possible so can ensure the 'bubble' your sons was in can all self-isolate for the recommended period. It is likely that someone may pick it up early. They may even have a Facebook page to notify them. My schools do. Keeping you all my thoughts x14 -
Elaine, how awful it must be such a worrying time, fingers crossed the test results come back quickly.
Floss, my sister also had an antibody test she was sure that she had it earlier in the year however hers came back negative, shes not convinced. My DH who has no contact with my sister as such, also had a persistent cough earlier in the year before Covid came to light in the UK, I only remember as it was constant for 2 weeks and was driving me nuts, he rarely gets colds etc which is why we thought it was weird, it would be interesting to see if he had had it, and then you get to my brother who flew back from Milan at the end of last year/start of the year and he was quite sick whilst over there for a few days, he also thinks hes had it. I question if we will ever know the true numbers.14 -
They shouldn't have sent the schools back anyway. Eton and Harrow didn't go back.
