I've got black out curtains, the furry owner is not blind friendly, they do help, when I remember to shut them.£71.93/ £180.0013

We have blackout blinds on two of the roof windows. One in living room, and one in daughters bedroom (out bedroom doesn't have a roof window). They help a little. The one in DDs bedroom is a proper light reflecting one, but living room isn't. Still too hot though, lol.
In our bedroom, we have some cheap stick on blackout blinds from ikea. They were about £5 I think, and you cut them to size. We got them just to keep the sun out tbh, as our bedroom gets the early morning light and it wakes us up.

Anyone visited the dentist since lockdown? I've been today to have a front tooth repaired. This used to cost about £150. Today it was £250!BTW, anyone seen the latest Simon's Cat vids? They are just darling, and explain how he came to live with Simon.

missychrissy said:I think they still do them. It’s only about 6 years since I ordered one. I still have my mother’s original Bero book but it is dropping to bits.
Anyone who gets a new one to replace an ancient one - don't throw the old one out because some of the recipes are different or missing in later versions.14 -
jKo I have been to the dentist. Cost is not hugely changed but root canal treatment is very costly anyhow. And my dentist went entirely private years ago so even more expensive.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back12

My filling behind my front tooth fell out 2 days after lockdown. I rang the dentist a week or so ago and they still aren't working on anything they don't consider desperate.12

Dental work will be more expensive as they have to wear more PPE completely disinfect between appointments. Which means that proportionately short treatments will increase in price more than long ones, as the cost of disinfection and PPE is the same regardless of the treatment. My practice has already given the PPE costs for different hygienist procedures, and apparently dentists will have to have a 1 hour gap between each client. We've been reminded to floss and use our inter-dental brushes16

( p.s. Auto correct changed tenterhooks to hemorrhoids - u.s. spelling! 😆 )Very well, considering I couldn't find the honey and had never made biscuits before. I made some plain, then threw all caution to the wind and regardless of the expense made another batch incorporating chopped up dates (which we actually got as a freebie from somewhere or other). Those would have been better if I'd given them a bit less time in the oven, but they still met with the Seal of ApprovalHospital went well thank you. Milady is back for an MRI in 10 days' time but we're optimistic that will confirm the consultant's opinion that she's still cancer-free.
Ref haemorrhoids however spelled (or spelt) - every time I see the word nowadays I'm reminded of a thread on another forum in which somebody started waffling on about instant pictures, and at one point another poster said "You mean Polaroids". Next post ... "Aren't they what you get from sitting on icebergs"?
We're all doomed16
