We have very few neighbours however one house is really starting to grate on me, there are parents and 5 teenagers, one went out 3 times in their car one day, one got dropped home at 11.30pm by their friends mum and friend after going to their house for the day, one went for a walk the other day to meet their friend, and a friend walked in to their house, its driving me nuts I'm not normally a curtain twitcher but it's impossible not to notice, the crazy thing is that one of the parents isnt in great health! Then the other side who is over 70 goes out in their car once or twice a day for a brief period and lives on their own, maybe they have a carers job I'm giving them the benefit of doubt, I wouldnt report them but argh some people!!13

I had a surprise delivery from Waitrose this afternoon - 2 bags of groceries - potatoes, bread, apples, rice, a few other things including loo roll, and a box of Quality Street!
It's lovely not to feel forgotten but I feel rather guilty as I'm not short of anything important and I have an order booked on Monday, so I'm trying to work out at the moment who might need some of the items and be able to get them.14 -
Dandy Candy I agree with others about designated shopping days. We are isolated too with health issues, but we also have to cater for my Dad who is 90 and lives alone. I had to do an online shop without his list 3 weeks ago, because he seemed to think manana, manana would do. Now he's decided to give me the list by phone and my delivery is this weekend
Perhaps he will think twice about it being late next time, but I'll not hold my breath. I had an idea to what he may have wanted but he'll just have to have what he's given. I can't help it if the sm hasn't got the correct item in stock or sends a substitute brand. I can hear the moaning now
He wanted a free box from Boris and his merry men but as we live in Wales it's a no-go. He did manage to get social services on speed dial for "just in" case. For those on their own with health issues and isolated, it may be worth calling the council, who will put you in touch with Social Services.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently16 -
Please know that this whole year is going to be awful. Food supply and then a recession/depression. Start now being careful, make the food last, make savings everywhere you can, prep hard. It won't end either as in Jan we will have the B word and things will once again turn to custard. Take care of yourselves xx

I was saying to gf today, that I wonder how many of us will be on anti depressants by the time this is over. People seem so fearful. My own mother will only open the door 12 inches to me to say thanks for the shopping. This morning on my walk, I was right on the edge of a 8ft wide pavement, while a woman my age plus her son passed me right at the other side of the pavement. Woman ridiculously hid her face behind her lapel while passing.14
