marycanary said:Hi,
I have lurked on this forum for a while and as a result, have built up a personal prep store; for which I am very grateful. I have unlurked to try to offer some reassurance to older people and those with ongoing health conditions. Even for the elderly, the death rate is not 100%. I have seen figures that it is 20%, not great but it means 80% survive. Please try to hold on to that thought. Prepare but don't make yourself ill with worry.

Just a warning about who you tell about your prepps.....as if the situation really deteriorates... .they may remember you mentioning them well stocked cupboards18

Went for OH's coffee that's on weekend offer at Lidl, it was a mad house, I got there for 10.10 as I also wanted to go to local market, no pasta, pasta sauce or sliced bread, but did have toilet roll, and someone in the shop said about the over 70's self isolating for 4 month's, I think it applies to immune compromised as well.
I can see me committing murder if I can only see OH for 16 weeks...…. plus my business will be gone as it's person to person based.
On the plus side, the furry one will love the fact her pet's are not going out and leaving her.

Businesses can be rebuilt in the fullness of time as can friendships be renewed and we've decided a set part of each day we're shut I together MUST be spent apart on different floors of the house because we both like our own time out and our own space.11

True Lyn, but it's paying the bill's in the mean time. I can see my saving will be gone, but that is why they are there.
Pity we are on one level, but at least Derby University has some free online courses, I'm already doing one so I think I will avail myself to more free learning and my own time and space will have to be me on the computer.£71.93/ £180.009 -
Separate rooms for sanity! sounds like a slogan to me? I'd rather have you alive than rich (me too) it's a difficult decision to make but I'd rather not be the richest woman in the churchyard if it was possible not to eh?12

Be like being a teenager again and live in my bedroom
, sounds good, and I never stood a chance of being the riches woman in the church yard at the best of times.

I haven't had a chance to go through all posts as a lot has happened since I was last on, so I might be repeating this, but I read that you should use paracetamol and not ibuprofen as ibuprofen can actually make covid19 worse. It was an article in the Guardian and the French minister is advising it - something to do with inflammation. First time I had heard this and I do normally tend to use ibuprofen so glad I read it. I had stocked up on paracetamol anyway so we are all set but I thought it worth mentioning.15

Thank you baggins11, I'd not seen that and ibuprofen is my tablet of choice, but OH is paracetamol, so got both in.£71.93/ £180.0010
