I like eating outside and having audio books to listen to as well - makes the time go quickly. Lots of free ones on YouTube.
I don’t care what they say about the virus and keeping the heating on. I’d go mad if I didn’t get up every day make my bed and throw the windows open!Daylight and fresh air.I put on dance music to keep my energy up and focus on simple self care. It takes me all day to get washed dressed and sorted, and then I’m so blooming knackered I haven’t got the energy to do much more than fall back into bed!I just try not to be a burden and inflict this on anyone else11 -
Think positive, if you do do bees this year, you've got a ready made hazmat suit to don....

On a much lighter note - I Have to laugh at the toilet roll situation in this country and the panic buying. We were threatened with Armageddon and Damnation on a daily basis growing up - but we were also schooled on the Paradise Poo!For those of you who are not educated in such matters, we were taught that, at some point we will be called to a vague, distant sanctuary so we need our grab bags, bibles and a few essentials. Bottled water but no need for food because, like an all inclusive holiday, manna will be provided. The nature of this manner is perfection itself and none of us will need toilet paper on our journey because we will be producing Paradise Poo! 😂
this is partly why I need therapy!🤪11 -
I don’t care what they say about the virus and keeping the heating on.What are they saying? I haven't heard anything about that. There's no evidence that the virus doesn't do well in warmer weather. Fresh air is good for you!none of us will need toilet paper on our journey because we will be producing Paradise Poo! 😂LOL!!!

WE need you 3secondmemory, you're necessary to us big time because every prepping voice is the voice of common sense and this world is so short of common sense at this moment in time your voice will count as a hundred. We are, on the advice of my GP daughter and her researcher husband on a shut in as of yesterday, a BMJ article suggests that one of the meds I've been on for years for hypertension predisposes me to the very worse effects the coronavirus offers and a large percentage of the fatalities so far are from people with underlying health issues, hypertension being one of the main ones. I have been in touch with the GP surgery and hope to speak to someone about changing meds this morning and we will keep ourselves in isolation (we will walk in the country and use the garden) for the duration. My biggest hurdle this lunchtime will be telling the charity shop I volunteer in that I'm not going to be there for some months. I don't think they'll understand why we're doing this now without government advice but do it we are and nothing will change our minds. I want to live.14

3secondmemory - we're all in this together! I have chronic fatigue related to another condition which causes mobility problems so I understand the frustration of daily tasks taking up all the available energy. The difficulty for me is about how they would intubate me without breaking my neck if I needed ventilation! I would rather not be in that position in the first place.
Mrs LW, OH has hypertension (amongst a number of other high risk things), which med is the one with the issue? We had already decided to self-isolate as of when OH gets back this afternoon from picking up an order from town that we made 2 weeks ago. Like you, we both very much want to live - there is so much we had planned for this year which will have to wait until next so we need to stay alive to do it all. We will no doubt upset a couple of people by this decision but our lives are more important than anything else, not to mention those of the medical staff who would be looking after us if we became unwell - prevention is better than cure both for us and the health service.
We know it could be months before we feel safe to go out. Luckily we each have a garden (OH lives in the same village and will still pop round for his meals) so as long as next door's chickens don't sneeze, we'll be able to go outside in our own space, but also being rural we can go out for walks at quieter times. OH has seeds and a veg patch so he'll potter about trying to grow things and I will continue with decluttering my home so we're both looking at it being an exciting and positive time for us. Let the Scrabble wars commence.

I'm not allowed to post medicals here Oceanspirit, or I'll be in deep trouble with the board guides. It's one of the most commonly prescribed drugs for hypertension and the like is still theoretical according to a BMJ article published on 3rd of March ad also another article in the Lancet from 11th March. would be worth reading them online and making up your own mind what to think.8

Thank you MrsLurcherwalker I will have a look at those.

People didn’t understand that my daughter categorically did not want me anywhere near the hospital when she gave birth – in case I got ill again! And I wasn’t going to give her any cause for concern when she was pregnant or otherwise.I had discussed with my Rheumatologist my concerns about the baby and he suggested the usual precautions, but the most important was to not visit if I had a temperature and be prepared to spend a lot of time on Skype.
I was prepared for much of this but, before it was just me being an over-anxious worrier. Slightly different now - huh?10
