Thanks @baggins11 I went all guns blazing tonight. She has had a bath with snuffle babe drops in, the vapour plug in her bedroom, vaporub on her feet with socks on, vaporub on chest and back, snuffle babe drops on bedclothes, she is propped up, she's had piriton and calpol, and warm lemon and honey drink Literally nothing else I can do. She dropped off quickly, but is coughing in her sleep. Sigh.February wins: Theatre tickets9

Fortunately there's a coal seam not far from us I think, and I own the freehold reversion to our garden - I keep finding the stuff. I've maybe a small bucketful

Latest on the virus is worrying:"SHANGHAI, Feb 22 (Reuters) - A 70-year-old man in China's Hubei Province was infected with coronavirus but did not show symptoms until 27 days later, local government said on Saturday, meaning the virus' incubation period could be much longer than the presumed 14 days."And 10 towns in northern Italy have been put on a virtual lockdown due to coronavirus, according to local media

I've just been watching the BBC news and an article from the World Health Organisation whose representative said the window for containment of the coronavirus was closing and that they are looking at many different ways in which it could manifest itself in the world community and in his own words 'it could get messy'. No further detail of the 'how' but if it does become either 'epidemic' or 'pandemic' I feel this is the opportune time in which to actually make preparation for perhaps a protracted time in your own homes should the situation become necessary. So much more sensible not to do the 'panic buying' when everyone else is scrambling for the same items but to be ahead of the situation and prepared as much as any of us can be now rather than when things may have changed. It may fizzle out and be no more than a storm in a rather large teacup but it sounds as though the PTB are taking it more seriously than has been apparent up to now. No guarantee of not getting it of course BUT prepping now to be able to stay out of the public areas if things should be difficult makes a great deal of sense to me.10

Yes, the situation in Italy is concerning indeed. This is a screenshot from here: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ don't forget a good stash of over the counter meds in your stocks. We have ploughed through ours recently. 3 people with colds in the same household means that supplies dwindle quickly xFebruary wins: Theatre tickets5 -
Tea, loo roll, board games & decks of cards - if this self isolation is to happen my family will be press-ganged into an at least month long session of Mah Jongg. (The Monopoloy set may be burned - it causes solid grudges.)
And I foresee some strongly worded discussion about improving broadband - currently we're on a cheap rate as you can only pump so much through a copper wire & as a Listed building, the providers are not even Contemplating trying to dig a fibre trench.10 -
Oh please, not Monopoly!Spend less now, work less later.8
