Prestige telecom / plan.com - its time we fought back

Well I'm both relieved and dismayed to hear that many people have had the same horrendous experience as me with Plan.Com and their partners. I have been with them for eighteen months now and I wanted to cancel as soon as I'd completed the contract. Same story, Sunny offered me a phone and contact and I took the bait. They sent the wrong phone at first then after it was returned I asked for a different, more expensive one. Sunny advised me I would have to re-enter the contract for £10 more due to the phone being more expensive. After weeks of no phone being sent I called them and said not to worry about sending the phone as I need one there and then. Aiden from Sunny said ok that's fair enough, I'll recalculate you're monthly payment. £39 now instead of £69. I thought that ok, not great but ok. Aiden said a standing order would be set up for £35 to cover the additional amount as Plan were as he put it "awkward" and don't make his life easy by not being able to change the amount their end. Eighteen months later, many, many phone calls, emails back and forth with sunny telling me to go to plan and plan telling me it was Sunny. No standing order. I sent emails and recordings as proof and they promised to set one up but nothing. Finally after Sunny mysteriously disappeared in a rogue like fashion after many months of not answering the phone, I got Prestige to backdate the first years overpayments but they said they would only do it if I reviewed in February. I agreed on the condition that it's set up to £20 to cover the overpayments. Now they say they they cannot give me an idea of the tariff and will not compensate me for a phone. They say I will have to pay £82 per month for the next eighteen months. I do not trust them to give me a fair price and also why should I overpay the agreed amount now due a discount later. This is bullying and scare tactics. Conveniently, the members of sunny are now working at prestige. Prestige say that any promises made by sunny are null void.
I'm my opinion plan use third party companies to sell their services, they then sign a contract with plan without making it clear there are seperate companies involved and that they are not really linked at all. The third party provide the physical goods which, lets face it, are one of the main reasons for entering into a mobile contact. The goods are never delivered, the company disbands and finally the customer is left with a large tariff for three years and no device. Shocking and illegal.
Please get in touch with me as I am in touch with the Ombudsman and have been told this is "rogue" behaviour. It would be amazing to speak with others and discuss options. I am aware that plan and their partners are actively using these forums so I will be vigilant. I know every voice at that disgusting company by now anyway.
Many thanks and good luck. 😁:money:0 -
Hi im currently going though a similar issue with plan.com and prestige
They tricked me into a contract they never said it was for three years and never said it would go up after 18 and told me if i want my bill to go back down then i would have to resign up to a new 3 year contract

They tricked me into a contract
How were you tricked? Did you receive a cold call to your mobile??0 -
Hi, has anyone had any success. My husband has also been duped by prestige. He has legal cover with his insurance so hoping to go down that route but very worried. We've cancelled pac code and did not sign to receive phone. They definitely gave fraudulent misrepresentations.0

This is a very helpful Post, currently having similar issues and was totally mis sold and given the assurance that I was signing up to a 18 month contract. Nothing was transparent, lots of key information was withheld and I did not sign any documents other than a tick in the box online to say I would go to the next stage be sent the details. When I tried to cancel I was told I had signed! I was pressured and the terms I was actually given are horrendous!0

Lesson here never engage with a cold caller!!1 -
They did the same thing to me. They cold call and offer you a lower price than your paying. They tell you they can do this by paying a automatic manual discount into your account. That manual discount was never paid. They sent the wrong phones with the contract. At the time lgg4se rather than the flagship model at the time. This kind of mistake doesn’t happen accidentally. They don’t answer calls and when you finally get them to answer they lie and pass the blame. This company and company’s like it need to be put out of business.0

I’m coming to the end of my contract with these people. They did exactly the same thing to me and my partner. Absolutely disgusting behaviour0

Make sure you give the necessary 30 day's notice or request and use a PAC within 30 days or it won't end.1

Having had a quick read through some of these comments, I too am in a similar situation, 3 months in and nothing but hassle and arguments with them plus over charging. I’m just starting the complaints procedure, has any one had any success so far??I feel like it’s going to be a losing battle but I’m going to try anyway. Am kicking myself for being talked into a contract as I usually always tell cold callers where to go!2
