  • Hello everyone :D

TOG - I think I used to be on the thread when you were on before too :D welcome back!

NSD 2/15 today :D pleased with myself for that one. Went out to get a free swim best for my son and was going to take him to get some chips by the sea. Checked my purse and pence in there so we come home and had left over party food!

    Budgets for the month are:
    Fuel - £150
    Food - £200
    Ent/Xmas/ETC - £50

Meal plan has been written till the end of the week and writing shopping list as I go an max I will spend on each item next to it, so when I go shopping I won't overspend!

Me and my son had a lovely day today I call them "mummy and baby days" we just spend the whole day the two of us, usually messing around and having a laugh - it was lovely.

So as soon as I woke up was scrolling this morning! But I haven't been on my phone as much as usual and it's been nice, I've had a lovely day with my son.

Still currently in my OD but not anymore than I was at the beginning of the month lol.

    4 things today:
    1. Lady giving away free swim vest
    2. Traffic wasn't too bad when I went out
    3. Mummy and son day :D
    4. Asthma not being too bad when my cat sat near me.

    C xx

  • Hello :hello:
Welcome back TOG - sounds like things have been a bit hectic.
Plumduff, when the word highlights on your iPad you get a little blue circle in the top left and bottom right of the word. You can drag those to select more text before and after the highlighted word (I really hope that makes sense).
Lavenderbee - thank you for the suggestion about the app. I'm not too keen on trying it just yet, everything is still a bit raw for wanting to make new friends but I will definitely have a look. It's because I've been ill so haven't seen anyone for a few days. Still didn't see anyone but rang my mam for a chat this afternoon which was almost as good :D
Bagged another nsd, and am grateful for being well enough to tutor this morning, Day and Night Nurse (again), lots of Christmas films and cuddles with the kids and cats. I did a small amount of cooking this afternoon, enough for a couple of days anyway :) and have spent a quality afternoon with the kids so I'm feeling pretty ok all in all.

Hi, I'm using an iPad and when I press on the screen I only get the option to select one word. Is there a way to select a whole paragraph on an iPad?

    Thanks for your help xx

Hi Plumduff. When you have selected the text on your iPad, you have the option to slide the blue highlighted text bar to your preferred text (at both the start and end of the highlighted text). Alternatively, you might have the option to Select All.

Got myself an nsd and enjoyed the day. We had a laugh watching the Incredibles on telly.

    Okay written down the rules

Savings Think I need to go over my budget as don't know (without looking) how much my standing orders cuddently are. Need to have a definite amount for savings set for next year.

Budgets are set. No meal plan as such, just running down the freezer. Lunch was tuna and sweetcorn on wraps (last pack of the 10p ys ones) and evening meal was 2 tuna steaks (1 was tiny) with chips. Followed by bowls of raw chunky coleslaw. Will start a shopping list of things that have or about to run out and think about what I want to eat at Christmas (no treats before then, need to have healthy eating sorted).

15 NSDs Going for it. First today.

Treat yourself well - lots of rest but will make a list of other things. Will think about how I want to spend the month (in between appointments, looking after mum and fixtures in the calendar). Need more energy, has anyone got any spare.

Phone not a problem, it's used for telling the time and calling taxis mostly.

Own rule Smile a lot and enjoy random conversations with people at bus stops and benches.

Slow living Really need this but need to balance it with some productivity otherwise it causes more stress later.

Omm mental health, feel good activities, gratitudes. Will review my CBT sessions and write a few checklists (including warning signs).

Happy to miss out on sales - I only ever bought things like sheets and pryex/ pot cooking and serving dishes.

Be an optimist Always look on the Bright Side of Life

Candles after dark Yes, yes, yes.

In search of AWE and JOY and REINDEER (don't think they are coming here this year, will have to track them down.

Read fiction before bed. Told the counsellor I might need more than an hour before bed. He asked how long I would like to spend reading. Ideally 25 hours a day.

Exercise will try but currently limping along

    Be childish - no problem

No guilt spending - token/ hm presents only.

Draining activities - going to try shopping. Will sort the online home deliveries and minimise the rest.

Visit the local area estate I have to come through when leaving mum's has already started (they all left their ordinary twinkly lights on through the summer but only became noticable as the dark came earlier). They go for the full on Griswold effect. Last year I did enjoy the people who had windows painted - lovely pikachu one and several others. I also like the lady who has decorated an outside tree with pompoms.

Exterminate - may try to stop sighing. Approach the washing up as a zen exercise.

Count your blessings - intend to give generously.

Today has been mainly resting, reading and dealing with washing. Despite all their complaints they have been sleeping in the new bed together all day - not a peep out of them. Beloved is a light sleeper and suspect the state of the old bed meant they ended in an uncomfortable heap in the middle so DS3 was using the spare in the front room.

It helped considerably with changing the clothes on the radiator that there was no-one (only grand chinchillas) in the front room. If it continues I could even sit in there and sew/ read. Blissful silence all day. Long may it continue.

Today I am grateful for peace aand quiet, having clean dry clothes to wear this week (several dodgy outfits last week), making slow progress, time to read and rest.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
