Try nuking them, cakes rise quickly in the mike, and they cook evenly too.

I prefer mine done in the oven, but actually the mike produces amazing results.

A basic cake recipe of fairly even ingredients:

    6 oz flour, butter, sugar
    2/3 eggs

any additives i.e nuts, cocoa, vanilla etc

    Whizz it all up,
stick it in a greased micro dish of about 8inches (I guess, as I'm a bit thick with measurements), with a bit of parchment at the bottom, though you probably won't need it.
Shove it in for around 4 mins, for most mikes, and bob's your uncle.

Have a gentle feel with your fingertips, if it's 'springy', and doesn't feel 'wobbly' underneath, it's done. If it isn't another 30-60secs should do.

Honestly, anyone can do it, give it a hwirl.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

:shhh: You'll have to try harder, you've not cracked it yet ;)

MMMM, me too, I first tried it after reading James Herriot's stories. He was working on Xmas morn, and teh farmer's wife gave him a slice of Xmas cake, a wedge of Wensleydale:drool: and a dram of scotch.

I don't go much on the scotch, but the cheesey cake is Heavenly.
