My point is that no-one else has witnessed the behaviour of your stop/start system during your journey. If it's behaving incorrectly or struggling then you are literally the only one to witness it.

Since you've got thorough, consistent evidence that it's worse, you must have some inclination as to why.
To my knowledge it's not faulty, the car gets serviced by various main dealers a couple of times a year. It's also only 4 years old so I would assume it's not faulty.

Main dealers might check for fault codes during a service, but they certainly won't be testing for correct/typical behaviour on something like stop-start.

Its not faulty, and if it was it would get fixed. Also that wouldn't account for my colleagues vehicles but do keep trying.:T

Gosh please don't, no really, my life would be so incomplete....
So you can't see a clear and obvious link between the same marque of car, the same type of driving and some shared experience? Really? I don't believe any one can be that thick. Unless they are on glue, then that explains a lot about that poster.

How can you possibly know what the OP's driving style is? I think you must be the one on mind altering substances.

Driving style? No one but you has mentioned that. Re-read the OP. City driving and short trips can't be avoided. Same here. Same driving conditions. Wouldn't you agree?

No. Similar conditions, but unless you're both doing the same journey at the same times then they're absolutely not the same. ;)

So city driving with frequent stops is different to city driving with frequent stops. Who knew?

No two cities are the same, therefore the journeys are NOT the same.

But I'm not surprised you can't grasp this simple concept - your other responses in this thread (and elsewhere on this forum) make this evident.

Could easily be. In my city leaving 30 minutes earlier/later can result in an 60 minute journey increase and a lot more waiting with the engine off.

Different routes can also have an impact.

But you're generally right; city driving is going to be broadly similar. Thats where stop-start should excel since you likely spend as much time waiting as moving.

Well the 2 cars aren't the same, the two drivers aren't the same, who's to say the time and atmospheric conditions would be the same, weight of passengers or driver, amount of luggage etc etc. There are too many variables for things to be identical and that goes for all journeys ever. So why would they ever be exactly the mirrored and what fool suggested that they were or could be? Oh, you did. Now would be a good time for you to back peddle.
But for sensible people it's clear to see that short journeys of a similar nature are grouped together officially, as stated above, and even have their own official names-urban and extra urban. I must be on to something. Cos me n the OP do the same sort of journey, therefore the advice given still stands based on the foundation afore mentioned.
