My point is that no-one else has witnessed the behaviour of your stop/start system during your journey. If it's behaving incorrectly or struggling then you are literally the only one to witness it.
Since you've got thorough, consistent evidence that it's worse, you must have some inclination as to why.0 -
To my knowledge it's not faulty, the car gets serviced by various main dealers a couple of times a year. It's also only 4 years old so I would assume it's not faulty.0

Gosh please don't, no really, my life would be so incomplete....
So you can't see a clear and obvious link between the same marque of car, the same type of driving and some shared experience? Really? I don't believe any one can be that thick. Unless they are on glue, then that explains a lot about that poster.
How can you possibly know what the OP's driving style is? I think you must be the one on mind altering substances.0 -

Driving style? No one but you has mentioned that. Re-read the OP. City driving and short trips can't be avoided. Same here. Same driving conditions. Wouldn't you agree?0 -
No two cities are the same, therefore the journeys are NOT the same.
But I'm not surprised you can't grasp this simple concept - your other responses in this thread (and elsewhere on this forum) make this evident.0 -
So city driving with frequent stops is different to city driving with frequent stops. Who knew?
Could easily be. In my city leaving 30 minutes earlier/later can result in an 60 minute journey increase and a lot more waiting with the engine off.
Different routes can also have an impact.
But you're generally right; city driving is going to be broadly similar. Thats where stop-start should excel since you likely spend as much time waiting as moving.0 -

But for sensible people it's clear to see that short journeys of a similar nature are grouped together officially, as stated above, and even have their own official names-urban and extra urban. I must be on to something. Cos me n the OP do the same sort of journey, therefore the advice given still stands based on the foundation afore mentioned.0
