    More fool you then.

Why tell the OP to turn it off though when, even by your own admission, it’s not always the case that turning it off gives greater fuel economy?
Fool how? My car is more effcient with the stop start off. That's finite. I tell the OP cos it could benefit her too- did that really need explain? Maybe go watch a YouTube video....

Slowly this time: why. Quote. The . Euro. Regs? They don't relate to stop start.
    Of course they do.

The engine produces this much unburnt hydrocarbon per km on the test cycle.
How much does it produce idling for three minutes?

And the 3 minutes thing? Couldn't disagree more.
I'm really not sure you could dig yourself a bigger hole faster with a JCB.

Well if it is (which it isn’t) then I’d recommend doing what your name suggests.

And I’ve watched plenty, thanks. And they all come to the same conclusion that stop/start gives greater fuel economy. :money:

I've back peddalled but you've presumed? Intersting logic there.no back pedalling from me.

Yes I presumed. So would most reasonable people given what you actually said.

Just because you don't agree (about backpedalling) doesn't make it any less true. ;)

no idea, does the test cycle comprise of idling? Still not sure of the relevance to stop start. There are no kms or emissions the whole time an engine is stopped and different engines will produce different levels with the regs being a maximum

    No holes here, sadly.

But I can't be back pedalling if I continue to say it, surely?

Why not have a look up a bit, at the diagrams showing speed-versus-time across both test cycles?

There are no kms or emissions the whole time an engine is stopped
By George, I think he's got it!

why would I?Does it affect my stop start or help me saving money by not using it?

Really? Pretty sure from the out set I've said no emissions during the stop. And we have established that there is a minimum period that you would need to be stopped for for it to be effective.

That's the whole point - you DIDN'T. You inferred EVERYONE should do it (post #2), whereas what you meant was that YOU do it.

Do try to keep up dear boy/girl/whatever. ;)
