I am off over to Florida this Saturday for three weeks and I am taking my lap top with me. Does anyone know if there are any wireless hotspots and will my laptop work over there. Thanks in advance
Your laptop will work since the transformer on you power lead will conver the voltage, you will need an adapter to make it fit the US sockect though, other things like hairdryers may not work due to the voltage difference0 -
Hi
Just wondering if anyone has booked florida theme park tickets through Orlando-tickets deals.co.uk and if they have had any problems.0 -
Hi, I was wondering if anybody has any advice on whether to book now or to wait. We are intending on going to Orlando at the end of this year. 18th October - 8th November so 21 nights.
At the moment the best price I am coming up with is about £1800 with Northwest, this is for 2 adults, 2 children and 1 infant. Is this a good price, can anyone come up with anything better even?
I am worried if we wait we will not be able to get the dates we need. Just don't know what to do.
The price I have quoted above is for the flights only, we don't need accommodation, but will need carhire, so would I be better off looking for a better deal that includes car hire? Aaaargh, so many decisions.0 -

At a quick thought I'd say book it, but I would also want to know where you're willing to fly from? And have you done a connecting flight in the US with 2 kids & a tiny one too?!!You're brave, is all I can say lol

Mercury travel seem to come up cheapest, some good feedback on the company on "the dibb". www.mercurytravel.net0 -

We must be mad tbh, we were originally meant to be going last year and decided against it when I fell pregnant as it would have meant taking a young baby. In hindsight we wish we had gone, dd would have only been 4 months so not really any bother and slept most of the time, and it wouldn't have really cost much more than the all inclusive to spain we did in the end. When we go this year she will be 18 months and probably more difficult, but if we leave it much longer we will have to pay for her on the flight. The eldest will be nearly 9 then and is very sensible it will just be my 7 year old that may cause problems.0 -
hi cathj,
I have done the Northwest route to Orlando that went via Minneapolis out, and Detroit back. Both ways the flights were very long and we were absolutely shattered (though Detroit slightly shorter). Detroit airport was horrible, not a lot to do. Minneapolis airport is lovely, but several thousand miles and hours out of the way. I got to my hotel at just before midnight - about 6 hours later than the corresponding BA/Virgin flights and having started around the same time. I could barely drive when I got there as I had been up nearly 24 hours.
If I'm going to fly indirect I prefer Delta via Atlanta, though I've been caught out getting through customs there and missing the flight. Much easier internal transfer though.
I think, though correct me if I'm wrong, that you are looking at the half term in Autumn. The flights for this get busy. It is my preferred time to fly and even though OH works for BA we book early as everyone knows it is half term here but not in US.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Definately cheaper to buy in advance; lots of on-line sources available it just depends where you want to go and for how long (variety of ticket options is amazing!)0 -
London airports are what I have been mostly looking at, however we wouldn't rule out any airport if the price was right.

Well I've done a quick scan through a few consolidators for your dates and I can't find anything cheaper - corresponding BA flights from Gatwick were around £2500, so a significant difference in price. Only you :money: can decide if it's worth it though
