The other thing you need to remember about the car is the car parkimg. $12 a day to park at disney and its either $10 or $12 to park at seaworld / universal too so this can add up.

OMG. That's expensive. The last time I went to Florida (1994) there were $2 to the £1 and so things were a lot cheaper. I don't remember there being a charge for the parking back then.

I suppose the best thing to do is park up somewhere and jump on a courtesy bus. Any ideas where would be best?

Hi there guys, I am looking to book 2 weeks in florida with park tickets for both weeks either in the 1st week of August or last. We dont mind whether we stay in a disney hotel or a villa or whatever but I just wanted some advice on where the best deals are, best ways to get the best deal etc...?!

    Anyone!

Dan, Given the choice take the last week of august for a number of reasons. 1) its cheapoer as its actually Disney value season and 2) all the US kids are back at school so its a LOT quieter

IF you use a decent travel agent like https://www.mousefantravel.com or completeorlando.co.uk you will get all the benefits on offer and the best rates. At the moment there is free dining etc if you stay on certain dates in a Disney hotel

    Cheers

Do you know if the parks in Florida allow you to child swap? By that I mean a family with a small underheight child waits in the queue together, one adult and one child goes on the ride when they get to the front of the queue whilst the other parent looks after the younger child. When the other parent has had their go, the other parent can go on the ride?

In Disney its called a Rider Swtich and it works like a fastpass. So you walk up to the fastpass return entrance with your little one who is too small to ride and they give you a swtich pass so you can stay with that little one whilst your other half goes riding with the bigger ones etc then you can swap and the swappee then goed back to the ride via fastpass/

    FastPass Tip for you All

Sorry if you knew this BUT it was rececntly confirmed that a Fast pass ticket is actually valid for that day and not just the time shown. You can not return to the ride before the time slot on the gfast pass BUT if you miss your shlot you can come back anytime that day provided the time has gone.

So for example if you have a fastpass for Toy Story Mania thats 12:20 to 13:10, you can of course return at 12:20 but if you are busy then do not worry you can return anytime after 12:20 and use it.

Do you have kids with you? If you do trust me the 12 bucks on parking will be a good spend. To get to the park via a bus you would have to drive to DTD then take a bus to a resort and then to the park. If you drove to a resort and got the bus you would not be able to park anyway so you can only park for free at DTD.

The only time I would take a disney bus if I was stayin on property owuld be to go to the Magic Kingdom or if I wanted early doors at Animal Kingdom as sometimes they do not open the car park their till about 8:45

I will have children with me who will be 6 and 10. If we were to park in Downtown Disney, do you how long the bus ride is to Magic Kingdom etc? We are trying to do things as cheaply as possible to make our money stretch further and $12.00 a day is going to add up to quite a bit. From memory, I seem to remember that when we parked at Disney we had to still get on a bus to get to the main gate as the car was parked miles away.
