Do you know if the parks in Florida allow you to child swap? By that I mean a family with a small underheight child waits in the queue together, one adult and one child goes on the ride when they get to the front of the queue whilst the other parent looks after the younger child. When the other parent has had their go, the other parent can go on the ride?

How old is your child ? We had this problem 2 years ago ( and will most probably have it again this year ) so what we did was, all queue up, then if there was no child swap we just got to the front and asked them to let him wait at the other side for us.

He hopped onto the ride, straight off the other side and waited. It was ok pretty much everywhere.

Of course he is old enough to do this, wouldnt do it if he was really young.

Shame he is just chicken :rotfl:

I've been having a look myself. They call it by different names at different parks. Thanks for looking!

I can't find it on the sites of either seaworld or busch gardens.

I would email the parks, they should all have email forms in the contact us section so you should be able to find out which rides you can use child swap on.

How old is the child you are going with? Which parks do you want to go to?

My little un is 5 and my eldest 9. My 9 yr old is over 1.4 metres and so can go on pretty much everything, and wants to too! No matter how scary!

Quietest ? Outside of school hols, both ours and US school hols. Also avoid their 'bank holidays ' like Labor day and July 4th etc.

Best and cheapest ? Dont think there is an answer to that, but we usually avoid package deals and shop around for cheapest flight then go for hotel / hotels later.

I've been twice at the beginning of January and found the parks really quiet. When I showed my friends the photos they asked if the parks had just opened due to the lack of people milling around in the photos.

My sister works in a hospital in Australia and they have a family that returned from Disney, Florida (trip of a lifetime for them) and their boys have swine flu.

Edited to say I just googled and found this link about a case that could be the same family.

"Health Minister Nicola Roxon said a Melbourne primary school had been closed until next week and 51 students provided with anti-viral drugs after two brothers were Wednesday diagnosed with swine flu.

The boys, aged nine and 10, and their 12-year-old brother, tested positive for the (A)H1N1 virus after returning from a family holiday to Disneyland, in the United States, on May 12, she said.

RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Has anyone used Globespan recently to fly to Florida? I have used Globespan on shorthaul flights and have had major , problems with leg room, is it any better on their intercontinental flights? I am 6ft 2 so tall but not exactly a giant but I couldn't survive an 8 hour flight if the leg room is as bad as their local flights.

Alternatively can anyone suggest any sites for flying from Scottish airports to Orlando? I have tried the usual suspects, Kayak, Expedia, Travelsupermarket etc but the prices are astronomical right now hence the reason I am considering Globespan. Any less well known sites that anyone can recommend? I am hoping to go in early July.

I went from Glasgow with Iceland air, and stopped at the blue lagoon in Iceland for a dip!! They were the cheapest, and they were a lovely airline to fly with. :)
