Last year Faye was in town and it rained for about 10 days non stop and we have to use all the other things we do in the rain up! There is lots to do when it rains so do not worry.
But the regular August weather you are talking about it as KarenG states, its an afternoon thunderstorm at anything from 3pm to 4:30 pm ish and lasts 30 misn or so. It clears the air lovely and the evening then is super.
so please do not worry too much about the rain, it does not ruin the holiday at all
Cheers
What are the last two weeks in July typically like for weather? Now debtfree except for the mortgage!0 -
Has anybody stayed at the Solana Villa Resort? It looks really nice ... just wondering what is in the surrounding area. I believe the WDW parks are supposed to be about 15 mins drive away. Now debtfree except for the mortgage!0

OK Craig, here is what we do:- Arrive at opening time at the parks before it gets to the mega hotness of midday
- Spend lunch in an air conditioned restaurant (doesn't have to be an expensive one)
- Do attractions like Philarmagic when it is very hot, as the queueing area is inside and air conditioned
- Do keep hydrated
- Bail out of the parks when it gets too hot and spend the afternoon around a pool; return to the parks in the evening when the weather is LOVELY, still nice and warm and balmy
- Get some of the little water spritzer / fan thingys (parks sell them for approx $20 or way cheaper in WalMart

Hiya, thanks again. I think what we are planning on doing is buying bus passes before we go- I have checked both websites and they both allow you to purchase before the holiday, and they send the passes to you. I wanted to try and get away with just using the one company, rather than buying two passes, or one pass and still needing change for the bus.. The Lynx sounds the most comprehensive. Is there a particular scenrio where we couldnt use the Lynx and would need to use the I-ride?
One of the reasons we chose the Holiday Inn was because of the free shuttle buses to the parks, but 3 months after booking the holiday we have received a letter saying the buses are no longer free....
Oh that's a shame about them not doing the free buses anymore:(
I think you could probably get away with just the Lynx, though if it was me I would def buy both passes as we used a mixture of both Lynx and I-ride.:)ITV Winners Club Member #46:)

Hi
I could do with some help please, Me and my FIANCE!!! (sorry just got engaged! ha ha) are planning on having our honeymoon in Orlando next year. We are both big kids and it would be great but neither of us have been before so we would do with some tips and some info on how and where to get a good price, finding it extremely expensive at the moment, Im hoping that im just looking in the wrong places!
Are the disney hotels that much more special than a hotel on I Drive? They are so much more expensive I wondered if its really worth the extra or whether to stay on I Drive and have a bit of extra spending money, we'd really like to go for 3 weeks but if its too much more then just 2 weeks.
And if we do stay on I Drive which is the best hotel?
Sorry about all the questions but Im just really excited and want to get it right.
Thanks to anyone who can help!
