I just wondered if anyone has been with young children and whether you think 3 is a little bit too young?
Many thanks
Hi there
She will experience far more if you wait a couple of years and remember more.
But, I took my daughter for her first trip when she was 3 and it was absolutely magical. She loved many of the rides (not the coasters obviously) and the shows, as well as meeting the characters. It was wonderful for us to see her excitement! So I would not say 3 is too young. It will just be a different experience than if you wait until she is, say a few years older.0 -
Hi there,
Im looking at going to Florida on the last few days of Aug to the begining of September.
Ive been really put off by reports of bad rain at this time.
Can i please ask anyone that has been at this time to tell me what they think?
This is my dream holiday and i really dont want it spoilt by rain.
Please help?
Thank you
Often at this time of year there is a daily rain shower for say a half hour, early afternoon. It can be a bit of a relief due to the humidity. It will still be warm, so you can just get on with it. It won't spoil your holiday.0 -

We were told to take hand towels and soak them in cold water and wear them round your neck. I thought it sounded the most uncomfortable, disgusting idea ever but tried it and it was fab!0 -
I am staying on I drive at the end of next month and have booked to go to Discoery cove. the hotel that I am in offers a free shuttle to sea world. We havent got a car hire as we are under 25.
If i book the shuttle for sea world at about 7:30 am would there be a free shuttle from Sea world to Disc. Cove that early or am I best getting a taxi?
thanks
I'd be inclined to take a taxi direct to Discovery Cove to arrive nice and early and relaxed and then enjoy your day at DC.0 -

Not at all
Both of my kids have been going since they were babies and for every age there is so much to do. The MK is the key place to take here and Toon Towna dn Fanssy land would be the main areas but she will enjoy so much from Philhanmagic to Small World, to meeting Tinkerbell to riding Dumbo to seeing Mickeys house etc etc.
You will experiance a lot and see their faces when they mee the charaters will be priceless.Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

The I-ride only goes up and down International Drive, so you would need to get off the I-ride at Sea World, then catch the Lynx no 50 bus to Disney, or catch the Lynx no 8 on International Drive then again get off at Sea World and catch the Lynx no 50 bus, either way the Lynx 50 will drop you off at the Transportation Center, there is no direct way of getting there. The Holiday Inn do have a free courtesy coach to all the parks, but numbers were limited and you had to book the day before.
I think we bought our I-ride passes from the Virgin Rep in the welcome meeting when we got there.
Helen
Hiya, thanks again. I think what we are planning on doing is buying bus passes before we go- I have checked both websites and they both allow you to purchase before the holiday, and they send the passes to you. I wanted to try and get away with just using the one company, rather than buying two passes, or one pass and still needing change for the bus.. The Lynx sounds the most comprehensive. Is there a particular scenrio where we couldnt use the Lynx and would need to use the I-ride?
One of the reasons we chose the Holiday Inn was because of the free shuttle buses to the parks, but 3 months after booking the holiday we have received a letter saying the buses are no longer free....:snow_laug0 -

You cant be put off by rain. Florida is sub tropical really. The hurricanes can come from July to Sept, even last week the weather was so awful we had to bolt the garage door shut.
Last year Faye was in town and it rained for about 10 days non stop and we have to use all the other things we do in the rain up! There is lots to do when it rains so do not worry.
But the regular August weather you are talking about it as KarenG states, its an afternoon thunderstorm at anything from 3pm to 4:30 pm ish and lasts 30 misn or so. It clears the air lovely and the evening then is super.
so please do not worry too much about the rain, it does not ruin the holiday at all

Hi I could really do with some help and/or advice. I wish to go to Florida with my Girlfriend in September 2010. I want a 3 week holiday staying in 3 different parts of Florida (hence why its 2010, I need to save!) The areas we are thinking of are: Orlando, Clearwater and South Florida (TBD).
I really have no idea how to go about booking this or when.
I have looked into Virgin holidays but the prices come out quite high. Obviously I want such a holiday for as cheap as possible with a couple of cheap hotels and 1 nice one. Preferably all for less than £1,000 each. I do think its possible but I am struggling at present.
How do people suggest I play this? Should I wait until other airlines release flights and build the holiday myself (When is it best to do this? 12 months in advance, late deal now???)
Also any tips on how I may be able to get added value. I.e. I was looking into flying via Virgin (don't mind though) and opening a Virgin Credit card. Building up some miles on the credit card and upgrading to premium economy.
Any advice would be much appreciated!!
As a side not I also need some advice as to where to stay on the 3rd leg of my hols. I want to take in a sports game (possibly baseball or football) at Miami, explore the evergreens and visit the keys... where do you suggest staying?
Thanks for your help!!!0 -

Which airport do you intend to fly from? I've managed to reduce the cost of my flights by booking connecting flights, so I am travelling from Heathrow to Philadelphia and then on to Orlando, but not in September. The cheapest I could get was £300 each. Do you intend on driving whilst there? Car hire for 3 weeks could be quite expensive. Cheapest I have found is about £150 per week.
I think you may be pushing it to get three weeks accommodation, car hire and flights for £2000!0
