one last question (i think) when is the best time to go? im not fussed about how busy it is really to be honest, would like the best weather, now ive read thats it hotter in june/july/august but there's also more rainfall, so maybe September would be better? when do you think, anytime from early may is good for us.

thanks again everyone, you have all been a great help!

  • We often go in June for my birthday it is very hot and like you said there is more rain however these are short heavy showers, as soon as you get wet your almost dry again. We went last Sept and although the weather was better those lovebugs seriously annoyed me... you would walk down the road with them 'making love' on your arms, not pleasant!!!!

yes dole whips are the best!
we are going to have the kitchen sink this time we go!!!, we wont eat all day so we can fit it all in!!
(its literally a kitchen sink, including taps filled with icecream, sauces, toppings, biscuits! yum, you dont have one each you have it to share!)
other poster asked what time of year, we went in november and it was perfect weather, no rain, hot, little cooler in evening, the crowds were lighter.
we have also been in feb and it was freezing! colder that it was in england, the plants were wrapped up, the characters all had coats on, we had to buy a few jumpers as we didnt pack any. this time we are going in may, and am not sure what to expect!

It is hard to predict the weather. We always go the same time end May/June as it covers mine and my DD birthdays and it is usually a few quick showers but hot. We have been though a few years back when it rained for several hours a day solidly for almost the whole 3 weeks and nearly ruined our holiday. Friends swear by Sept/Oct time. ;)

Hi, take a look at page 204 and post 4065. I gave some views on time of year to do

    I said:
I have been fortunate enough to come to Florida in every month and the advice you have been given is sound. I this Jan is quiet but the evenings can be cold. This year we had such bad frost in Jan and Feb that I have spent the last week pulling dead plants out from around the pool. Was freezing for two nights although this was rare

Feb and MArch are still chilly and night but still busy. April and May suffers of course from Easter, Spring Break in the USA and May for half term UK so weeks either side of those get busy.

May /June after half term is awesome with great weather and lower crowds. July and August are fantastic for weather day and night but it will rain and you will probably get a nice little hurricane to keep you bust. US kdis go back o school early August (from May!) and so towards the end of August is not bad although still v busy

September a great time. All kids back to school so quiet and still the weather is brill.

Oct is great starting to get cooler at night and then half term looms near the end of it. But great time to be here with Halloween which is a real experience over in the US.

November and December still nice with thanksgiving and Christmas holidays etc so it gets busy

So September or Jan or first two weeksMay are my suggestions.

As for your hubby, there is an awful lot of help available over here for people with special challanges. Check out that section specically related to this on www.allears.net

Any ideas on where to find a cheap villa booking for end May? We have had our villa cancelled sadly and although we have had a few offers they are still more than we can afford now and also quite out of the way i.e Davenport etc. There are only 4 of us....

You had a look at an apartment or condo?

LBV apartments near LBV outlets on the 535 are ace.
