Hi everyone, we are considering Florida for the first time next year but haven't a clue where to start, I really can't sit and wade through this thread with over 4000 posts as it will take me forever! can anyone give me a rundown on how to go about it? or would we be better just going to the travel agents?

I have no idea about the parks, where to stay, park tickets, car hire, fly drive, villas etc, I have heard all these terms banded about but really have no idea where to start with it all, its mid boggling unless you know someone else who has been and can advise

Just wade through the first page it should give you a start!

    Hi
I'm off to florida in June after a long weekend in ny. I'm thinking sarasota for a nice chilled break after newyork but wondered does anybody know of a nice villa as a alternitive to a hotel - maybe you own one?? (has to be close to the beach and restuarants etc-for two people), price not too important...location and how nice it is is more important.

    ta in advance guys

Yes, you can do this with no problems.

The parks' official line is that any food brought should be eaten outside, but this is never enforced despite bag searches (they aren't searching for food!)

In fact when they see sarnies they always make a comment about making them hungry :)

Hi this is probably a really blonde question but by services do you emergency services/hospital staff? If so do you just show up with I.D on the day for free admission?

Not a daft question but I think in American speak Services means the armed forces and for that they have they own resort of the Shades of Green which is the old Disney Golf resort and has the biggest rooms of any Disney hotel. Service personnel also get free 5 day base tickets at the moment.

There is no harm in asking though so you could email disney at wdw.communications@isneyworld.com and ask

    Cheers

I am no fan. The smell puts me off. I'd rather have a doll whip or the kitchen sink from Beackes and cream :)

Me, my partner are taking my partners little sister to disneyland paris in August, we are all really looking forward to it, and now its made me and my partner think about doing the dream holiday (for us) next year which is Orlando/Disney World, my question is, does Florida suit couples? or is it better when your in a group or take kids? we could take my partners little sister again but obviously we would have to pay for her, paying for her to disneyland wasn't so much of a problem because its quite cheap, im not sure if we would be able to afford to pay for her to Florida aswell! After taking a quick look at some of the posts in here everyone seems to have either gone in groups or took kids, it doesn't seem like it would suit just a couple.

thanks in advance for the info.

Florida suits everyone and any situation as far as I can see unless you want a sking holiday LOL.

You cna have a ball on your own, as a couple, family whatever. Its a blast

At Shades of Green, the UK forces can buy their tickets (TBH it didn't seem to work out cheaper this year, only knocked the tax off), but staying at Shades of Green is only available to US forces AFAIK.

Can you imagine anywhere in the UK doing free entry for the Forces, let alone having their own resort?
