Hi toddy226.
The dates are 12th to 28th October, flying from Manchester. I appreciate that not going the direct route is cheaper, but as it is with a small one I didn't really want the hassle.
Will check Tampa though, forgot about that!0 -

tampa is a LGW route so from Machester your options are limited and as you are including half term it will be pretty steep. even each week either side of half term is expensive. We paid 288 into Tamp on BA which I am not complaining about.

going to orlando for 3 weeks but only have a car for the last 2, staying in LBV for first week, does anyone know how much a taxi would be from the airport to LBV, or of any alternative and easy ways to get there ??
thanks in advance
A couple of options. You could use the excellent Tiffany Town Cars https://www.tiffanytowncars.com and they even have a coupon on their site in true MSE fashion. Same-ish price as a cab but far better service. Ihave used them for years.
For a cab you cna get a pretty exact fare quote by using the online syste, at Mears https://www.mearstransportation.com

have just realised that the time i have booked flights for seems to be the rainy season !!!!!!!!!!! is the weather in june in orlando really really bad ?
have i booked at completely the wrong time of year ?
well that explains why the flights were cheap !!!!!!!!!!!
oh well, at least coming from the uk kind of prepares us for this, have been to alton towers in the rain many times before !!!!!!!!!!!!!
heyho, will still have a great time im sure , albeit it a little damper than was anticipated !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not worry there is no "rainey season". When the humidity rises in August time you will always get an afternoon storm, about 3 or 4 pm for 40 mins and then it clears away lovely.
I have been to orlando in every month and they are all great. Some get colder at night recentl months have had frost even but June will be lovely so do not worrySelf confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

Hiya,
I am about to book 2 weeks in Orlando for 2 adults and a 4 year old and trying to figure out our spending money budget.
We will be probably staying in a condo and planning on doing breakfast and packed lunches and eat out some nights (probably half the time) and cook some other night. What do you reckon a realistic budget would be??
Thanks
Without tickets? I would say you would need no more than 40 bucks a night for a decent meal and by decent I mean none of those dreadful buffet places like goldern carroll but nice resturatns like outback, olive garden, smoky bones etc. Also you will notice that your 4 year old will eat quite cheaply as well and sometimes even free at places. However some days you cold eat for 25 so it all depends
Breakfast if you are in a condo will be cheap if you grab some cereal and milk from
WalMart etc. Lunch, yes you can make your own of course but places like Subway do great deals like a foot, long for 5 bucks etc.
With tickets, of course that costs more.
Also you would need to take in account parking costs, gas etc. parking at the parks is 12 bucks and gas will cost you 30 bnucks to fill up.
Shopping, well thats up to you to enjoy

haha - good luck with the school. Our local infant school is ace and they let you take them (which helps us a lot). Have you asked for permission? Most local authorities permit 10 days absence with permission.Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

Hi - I'm going to POFQ in August - I know it will be hot but any info on rain patterns/timing etc would be appreciated. More importantly....
I get bitten badly in the UK and bites swell so.... What are the bugs like at this time of year and do you have any recommendations re 'sensitive' anti insect stuff as I'm allergic to fragrance.
Thanks
Unless a hurricaine pops by like last year which knackered our weather for 10 daysyou will get rain about 3 - 4 pm eac day for maybe 40 misn maybe less. Might not be everyday but it happens about three four times a week. Do not worry though if you are out at this time, you cant beat Thunder Mountain in the rain in my ivew - one of the best things ever that is
as for bites, Disney have complex mossie systems and you will really not find one there - if you have a villa then you will find that the pool enclousre will stop most coming in. There are sometimes some spiders about (round ones bites) but jsut keep an eye
Generally if you go outside of Disnmey then just get some "Off" which you can get from Wal mart, target etc. They do fragrence free and its very good. We forgot this the last time we went to green meadows petting farm and got eaten alive.

How long does it take for them to get used to the time difference?
As they are still having their lunch time nap? i woudl say it took ours two nights. The first one we tried to keep them up for a little on the plane then let them sleep later in the flight and then wake then for landing until we got to the house then popped them to bed. They woke at 4 am but the next day they had a lunch nap a buit early and were OK. They adapt quickly. How did you go about going to the parks? (i.e i am thinking of going to say Animal Kingdom for opening, staying till she gets ratty- probably about 1pm at latest, and then I have booked the dinners for around 6 so leaving the hotel at about 5...How did you find eating? We are doing DDP and as i understand it, she will just eat off our plate? Our the staff good at giving an extra plate and silly stuff like that?We are staying at Port Orleans Riverside (was Dixie Landings), anyone been there? (with/without kids!) What did they think?Sorry for all the Q's very excited/nervous!Oh nearly forgot- we are flying with Virgin- are they good with kids? Anyone know what kids shows they show?

quick question - once you pay for a day's parking at one of the Disney parks, can you transfer to another Disney park later in the day on the same parking ticket, or do you have to pay again?
Thinking of going home to lunch then coming back to a different park later in the day.
Yep, no probs at all. Just keep the ticket they give youSelf confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!
