Can I book DDP independantly of the travel agent. I booked through thomas cook. I have had a look on the disney site and seem to becoming to a blank.

Just been looking around for 5 or 7 day hopper tickets for Disney. Cheapest place by far seems to be Virginholidays.co.uk at £183 for a 5 day premium hopper.

Just wondering if this is correct and and has anyone used them even though they have booked the holiday elsewhere?

I don't think you can book DDP with a tour operator unless you book it at the time you book it. But you can't book it independently of your tour op I'm afraid.

If you look on the left hand side of the page you can out it who is travellibng etc, and it goes through to a page where it shows a £1 booking fee then on to the next page where you can book holiday extras, so yes, I think you can.

Let us know if you go for it - it's good info for the rest of us.

We won't be buying tickets at the moment, just paid for our flights.:rolleyes:

n.b. this is a deal where they send you vouchers and you pick up the tickets, rather than sending you tickets. IT depends what time of year you're going as to whether this would be a problem.

To book tickets you need to ring and opt for new booking on the auto telephone system. I did this yesterday when booking Seaworld/Aquatica tickets - Virgin was cheaper by miles than loads of sites - they charge a bit extra for credit cards but it does give you insurance cover via the card. Free if you use Debit card.

You get vouchers sent to you 2 weeks before travel and you then have to queue at guest relations - not good but so much cheaper that buying direct (where you can go strait to the turnstiles with your e-ticket) - dont know if this is the same for Disney.

Lo guys-

im a first time poster in here but ive been given a great chance to go to Orlando and i think I would be a fool to miss it.

My uni friends parents own a villa that can accomodate 10 of us. Its for free so were sorted there.

The problem im having is with flights- ive got indirect form Heathrow for £295. Others especially BA are coming in at about £450 for the dates we want to go to in Sept.

Do you think im better off waiting for a BA or virgin sale to fly direct- or should i take the indirect at £295?

With regards to tickets, is the only negative thing about getting the vouchers from Virgin tht you have to que up to transfer it to an actual ticket?

We go in 10 days and i am just looking at sorting our tickets. The places we used last year both times we went, require payment in $$$. This is obviously not very MSE this year. I am thinking Virgin is best, but keep seeing people mention that you get paper voucher and not your tickets, wondering what the huge problem is with this that puts people off?

we've had vouchers from Virgin twice, and never had to queue for more than 2-3 mins to change them (we go at Easter, which is a peak time), but we do make sure we arrive at the park at opening times. (No doubt the queue gets longer as the day progresses!)

looking at monday 5th Oct for 2 weeks returning on mon 19th and flying from any london airport
