that includes half term so the 295 sounds cheap really

Is that half term in the US? (do they have half-term?) - coz it's not half term here (Essex) in those dates.

    Hiya,

I am about to book 2 weeks in Orlando for 2 adults and a 4 year old and trying to figure out our spending money budget.

We will be probably staying in a condo and planning on doing breakfast and packed lunches and eat out some nights (probably half the time) and cook some other night. What do you reckon a realistic budget would be??

    Thanks

I know this is obvious but a small tip for people going over there - when you use an orange taxi (Checkers, City Cabs etc) don't let them quote you a price - use the meter. Nearly always cheaper!

    Hi

We allowed $180 per day for 4 of us. That was in the days of $1.91 to the pound mind

yellowmonkey - have a look on http://www.gardengrocer.com/shop.php (the people who deliver shopping) for a rough idea of how much your favourite food costs - then you'll have abetter idea, since shopping bills will make up quite a chunk of your spending money.

I'm loving the pancakes in the breakfast foods list.

Hi I have been reading this thread with interest as we are looking to take our 3 children to florida Thanks for all the great ideas etc A friend works in a travel agent and she has said virgin have their preview brochure out for next summer I asked her to get us a quote This is what she came back with (I would appreciate feedback from those of you who know the hotel etc and whether you think this is a good price)

    Wed 19th may 14 nights
    2 adults 3 children
    Bahama Bay Resort
car hire (not got fully inclusive car cover included as those prices aren't out yet expected to be an extra £320 ish)
Free upgrade from 2 bed apartment to 3 bed apartment
    All this for £3093.00

Considering a quote we got for Feb 1/2 term next year 14nights at Fairfield inn came in at £3528.50 I thought the may price wasn't bad as it will be warmer.
    Thanks

    Hi Chocolateteddy,

you can do it alot cheaper booking it yourself (depending on what you want and were your going from)

Go to https://www.netflights.com for you dates you can go from heathrow for £278 per person, admittedly with a change in Detroit - only an hour stop over though.

Car hire from netflights again - £249 all inclusive for an intermediate sized car for the two weeks.

    Accomadation in a 3 bed townhouse - https://www.florida-villa-townhouse.com
great location only 10 mins from Disney, we have stayed there and the facilitys are great!!! 2 weeks for £700 .

    flights - £1390
    car - £249
    Accom -£700

    Total - £2339

There you have it, a saving of over £600 - this could towards the price of the park tickets, meals etc...

    Hope this helps.

Hi - I'm going to POFQ in August - I know it will be hot but any info on rain patterns/timing etc would be appreciated. More importantly....

I get bitten badly in the UK and bites swell so.... What are the bugs like at this time of year and do you have any recommendations re 'sensitive' anti insect stuff as I'm allergic to fragrance.

    Thanks

don't know how strict your school is - around here it's an automatic penalty notice for any unauthorised absence due to being on holiday (and requests are all refused unless exceptional circumstances) = £100 per child, per parent (£50 if paid within 28 days)
