hi all, after all the responses I received I decided to add a car on to my booking after all so I have the option of driving - where do i find insurance for it ? I can find loads for the holiday but none of the websites im looking at seem to give the option of insuring the car, i dont really want to book with the holiday company as they are usually at a premium and im tight!! LOL

Does anybody have any good value companies that they use ? I'd rather have everthing paid before I leave the UK so that our spending money can stay just that!

    thanks in advance
:D I understand ALOT more than I care to let on :D
  • Hello, Im new to this so bare with me....ta!

Thinking of going to Disney next year either April or October, when is the best time to go?

    5 x Adults 3 x Children

Would you recommend driving or shuttle buses?

Any recomendations ie: Villa, Hotel, Self catering aparts?

    Tickets.....Disney/Universal/Sea World

Want to try and keep the cost down as low as possible etc.

And any other tips would be helpful.....Thank you.

Based on the prices I got when looking at villas, for that many people I'd seriously look at those. The villa I'm renting in August is £555 (and there were some cheaper), and that sleeps 8 people, although theres only 3 of us going, you pay per week not per person. So if you did that you'd need a car I'd say.
Moving onto a better place...Ciao

  • Hi, Was thinking of going to Orlando again with the missus & Kids during July or August, Usually stay in a Hotel but this year We thought we might rent a villa . Can anybody please recommend a reputable website for renting a Villa during our stay ? Also where is the best area to stay ?, looking for somewhere near Disney + other attractions but also quiet as well. Friends have suggested Lake berkely & Indian point . Any Views ?

We booked through Villarenters.com again. IT's renting from an owner, but your payment can be by credit card, and goes through a central body. We have had problems in the past renting privately where owners couldn't cash a foreign currency cheque etc. so this way suits us fine.

https://www.villarenters.com lets you choose the resort you want, or lets you search Orlando and whittle the list by price range etc. (though it sirts by starting price, not actual price for your dates) and availability. It also tells you whether smoking is allowed or not, something that's important to us (being ex smokers!!)

We finally settled on Glenbrook Resort in Clermont for next Christmas, at the end of the 192 and then up a little for location, we wanted soemwhere with a communal pool aswell as our own, so DD has somewhere to play with other kids. Lake Berkley was fairly expensive compared to some others.

editted to add - the American kids go back to school in early August I think, so go after they go back if you can to keep the costs down.

We have done this size party a few times, we always get a Villa with a pool, and normally an 8-seater van and a compact car, so the party can split if they want to.
