Does anyone have any idea of a good amount of spends to take for a 14 night stay, there are 4 of us going myself my husband my ds whose 4 and my dd whose 2 where going first two weeks in June. A friend of my husband said we'd need at least £4000 ($5600) but i'm convinced this is a bit excessive i was thinking more about £2500 ($3500) plus the kids have $500 of their own that family have saved for them.

Plus how much is ideal to budget per day on food my kids aren't big eaters.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks ;)

I always take what i can afford. On average i budget £2000 our money for 14 days thats for 3 of us (me the mrs and a 13 year old) whatever that changes into currency then so be it thats what we have. I always buy park tickets here and pay any upgrades here, that £2000 is for spending there on food, drinks, clothes, activities etc etc etc.

Take what you can afford and im sure you'll have a ball regardless, you don't need to spend big bucks in Florida. I know i can go and have a ball and spend less than my budget very easily.
  • I've always meant to ask can Magic Kingdom be accessed without a car ie not going through the main car park off World Drive?

No, unless you are staying at one of the MK resorts, and even then you have to catch a boat or the monorail (unless you are staying at the $$$ Contemporary and then you can walk).

The idea Walt Disney had was to "build up" the excitement of reaching the MK by the anticipation of being able to see the castle from across the Seven Seas Lagoon (the big lake in front of MK). This was something he regretted he was unable to do at Disneyland.

    Hi,

I am hoping someone could help me.
I was hoping to take my son to disney but i am slightly concerned as to what he will be able to ride / take part in.

He is 4 years old this month and 42 inches high.

I wanted to take him while he still believes in "magic".

My DH and I are differing on everything it would seem, main points being
    a) is he too young
    b) should we go to a value resort or moderate - i say moderate as we do not want to go into the parks everryday, may be a day at the pool,
    c) a direct 9 1/2 hour flight or indirect changing planes?

    any opinions gladly received.

My best memory of a trip to Florida was when my youngest DD was 3. It was absolutely magical when she met Minnie Mouse!

The Mods are nicer from an adult perspective but my DDs ironically call the values their favourite resorts - and they've stayed at many WDW properties including deluxe and DVC properties. The reason? Because they have the icons that are "larger than life" and very "Disney". Their absolute favourite being All Star Movies.
  • I'm worried about that. I've booked to stay at PO R/S in December and last time we went we stayed at All Stars andd my son loved the larger than life deco. I hoping I haven't taken some of the magic away and that the pool slide will make up for it!!

    Here is what I do

Go to www.paytone.com and get a Bizon card. You can get one for as little as 10 dollars and do not worry you donwload it and the pin number etc. Calls on this card to the UK are like 2.5c a min and you can uise it from ANY pay phone and even your hotel room.

    Hi disney cjd
So you dont get a card you get a pin number do you print it out etc.I have registered with the site but I am a little uneasy about buying one just yet. They seem great !! :o
It just looks a bit complicated for me if you wouldnt mind letting me know in laymans terms how easy it really is that would be great cheers Leachy:confused:
  • Guys if we are only doing Busch Gardens for 1 day (8 adults, 1 child), is there much to be saved by getting tix in the UK, or just buy them on the door?

(My brother is in the armed forces, so his family are going to do Seaworld thru their Heroes things, and we won't be doing any of the other parks)

Have booked the Holiday Inn on S Gulfview, Clearwater Beach for me and the OH for the night after Busch :D
  • Hi folks,

I have done all i can using this site, but i am after some more advice.

I can get a villa in a variety of places for @ 600 pounds for 12 nights stay, i would like to know peoples opinion on different locations.
I also need to know I am in the forces and i know i get special treatment over there but what does that consist of apart from que jumping.
I am looking at the whole holiday costing approx 2500 pounds ( villa, car hire, flights )
can anyone advise if this is good for 2 kids 2 adults, 30th Aug to 11 sept.

I've just booked our holiday to Florida in August.

I paid £1263.64 for the flights and car hire (1 adult, 2 children, for 9 days)
And £555 for a villa that sleeps 8, so we should have plenty of room lol.

So £1818.64 for everything but the park tickets. Which I thought was pretty good.

I'm thinking of giving Disney a miss and just buying an Orlando Flex Ticket Plus because that covers 6 days, and we are only going for 9 since the schools have actually decided to start right at the beginning of September for a change.

Hey, who did you book with? Im literally just about to book a holiday for 2 adults 2 children for hol in orlando in aug coming in at appox £2300 should i expext to pay that kind of price at this time of year????
