thanks i went for the Brits guide in the end!!
No worries
If you are staying on Disney property I think the unoffical guide is excellent as its focused on Disney. Also the authors are great and I listen to them on the WDW Today Podcast.
If you are staying in a hotel or villa not on Disney and plan to do more than visit the world Id go for Brits guide. I might be doing something with Simon Veness the author of the Brits guide soon so watch this space!!

the birnbaums (sp?) guides are very good, although mostly for the american visitor, they are in cooperationi wth disney, and there are a load of coupons in the back of the book which are for once useful. ie money of the disney miniture golf course, money off some of the backstage tours, money off house of blues at down town disney, epcots dive quest, disney world fishing, and money off the lego store, most off these i will be using which will more than give me my money back for the book. and the cheapest place i found it was on amazon.0

I like Birnbaum (official Disney) for the pictures but little else, Sehlinger (unofficial Disney) for its sheer breadth of knowledge, and Brits guide (Veness) for its general usefulness to the UK traveller. Of these, the one I get every year is Sehlinger.
My favourite ever Disney guidebook though is the one for gays (I'm not gay but this is the only guide I've read in one sitting with tears of laughter rolling down my face), because it tells you how to turn off the water in Canada (that's Canada in Epcot as opposed to Canada the country...) and get chucked out of the park, which I would never do, but does appeal to the maverick in me...Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

A guide book for 'gays'?
Urgh. As a gay man, I find that disappointing. Does it list the best places to get my hair straightened?Comping wins this month: 2 x business class flights anywhere we like | Horse vitamins (!) | New kettle | Motorcycling prints | Signed LPs | Thanks to all!0 -
As an aside:
I just rang Attraction Tickets Direct to see if they can match the following:
Disney tickets - 14 day ultimate 2009: £206 x 2 (direct)
Universal Flexticket Plus - £155 x 2 from Virgin
£722
A big difference from the £816 they want. Could/would they match it? Would they !!!!!!y! Makes their 'Price Match Guarantee' look a bit daft, if you ask me.Comping wins this month: 2 x business class flights anywhere we like | Horse vitamins (!) | New kettle | Motorcycling prints | Signed LPs | Thanks to all!0
