Thanks for this info, I still can't decide what tickets to buy and for how long.
There are four adults and one child ( she is 11 - think that counts as a child)
I was going to buy a 14 day pass for magic kingdom and the same for Universal. ( buy 7 days, get 7 days free) Its working out about £1600 and Im wondering if it would be better to buy indvidual day tickets for any of the parks.
Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find it in the search bar.
At 11 she will be classed as an adult unless she is a small 11 if you know what I mean :0
If you go to disneyworld.com you will see the ticket prices. A days pass is like 75 dollars so thats a good benchmark to work from, so it would cost you 225 a day to visit Disney. The more days you buy the cheaper it gets.
I dont really think you would need 7 days at Universial. I would have thought 2 or even 3 is enough.Self confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

Davenport is in the heart of rental center with the road US27 right through it.
To get to Tampa its two roads... US27 then i4.
Its about an hour and a half maybe 1h 40 mins.
Clearwwater is much nicer than tampa, ad yes there are a few dolphin tours you can do,
Do a liuttle search on clearwater i you want to stay there, some great hotels for about 120 bucks a nightSelf confessed Florida expertwith over 320 trips there!

How long are you going for?
If its just 14 days then its not worth buying 14 days at disney and 14 days at universal.
Just to check, the 14 day ticket for Universal, is that the Orlando Flex ticket? If so, thats probably worth it if you buy it for all the parks. This will give you an unlimited time at universal, seaworld and busch gardens. I think it includes aquatica too but I'm not sure.
Definately don't buy a 14 day disney ticket just for Magic Kingdom, you certainly won't be there every day and if you are you will get very bored. If you want to buy a 14 day ticket make sure its open for all parks.
having said that, you really need to write down exactly what you want to do.
In my view.............
Busch Gardens is the best park, either get it on the Flex ticket or if you buy a ticket you get an extra day for free
Seaworld - ditto with busch gardens. It may be cheaper to buy seperate tickets for Busch / Seaworld and Universal if your not going to spend lots of time there but check the prices individually.
Universal / IOA - IOA is miles better than Universal though Universal has received some what of a facelift over the last few years as it was looking very tired. The Mummy and MIB are awesome.
Personally I wouldn't spend more than 1 day in each but it always depends on what time of year your visiting, if its likely to be busier you may need a couple. You could look at buying a 1 day ticket for each, and then getting a further day as a 2 park hopper meaning we can switch from 1 universal park to the other.
Your daughter may love MK but it may be getting a little young for her, depends if shes a mature 11 year old. You definately need to go but how long depends on how much you like it and what your looking for at the parks.
I love Animal Kingdom, its a nice park with lots to see but as said above it can get crowded as despite being the biggest park with a lower volume fo visitors, the size of the park is generally down to having a very large safari area. Definately go here but again depending on ride times you may be able to do in a day.
Hollywood studies you can probably do in a day, and ditto with epcot.
Remember you can go to the beach if you want a break (parks every day for 2 weeks can get very tiring and you can get home wondering if you've actually been on holiday!). You can go to clearwater in the west or cocoas good in the east. Cocoa gets bigger waves than clearwater and is generally a lot more choppy, depends what you like at the beach really.
Also, Kennedy is good to go to too if you like reading about space and looking at how space travel has changed.
You may want to go shopping, even with a weak pound the outlets are still cheap and you can get bargains. Not so much in electronics anymore but clothes etc are still good.
Got back myself last tuesday and realised how much I missed the place. Heading back in may so good job that I bought annual passes for busch / seaworld!!0 -
Thanks, do they normally do offers at the beginning of the year? What offers have they done in the past? Will keep checking the websites but don't want to miss out again. I think the Disney promotion was excellent but I'm angry  that they just increased the offer without notice. Why did they extend it in the first place?. I was going to buy before the extension but thought another month can wait. I'm thinking of complaining to them about it.0

Thanks mrposhman, yes it was the flexiticket i was looking at and its sometimes on offer at 2 weeks for 1. Dont think i'll buy the MK 7 day pass now after all. :beer:0

it did say on the website, offer until 4 november (at £169 rate) now its till 8 december at current rate( £206)
The original offer at £169 was due to expire on 4 Nov they then extended the offer (at £169) until 8 Dec, then without warning they hiked up the price to £206. See theDibb.co.uk forum they have many angry people on there who were also duped!0 -

I've just priced the Disney tickets up on the Virgin website(you can book them even if you don't have a holiday booked) and they've got the price wrong!!! They have next years 14 day disney tickey as 183 when it should be 196 which is still cheap. i've just added them to our booking as we get 10% off too, they tried to charge £196 until I pointed out their web site said different. I got them at the £183 each (most sites have them at over £200).
Link to Virgin page you have to do the booking to see the wrong price added in. Should think they'll change it any minute now!0 -
No its not a mistake
All their brouchers point to the full price.
The price here is reflecting the current disney offer of 14 days for the price of 7. If you check the brochure price you will find this is the price for the 7 day ticket. so no this price is correct and pretty good too."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0
