  • Hi
Can anyone give me an approximate figure of how cheaply my family can do the Orlando thing for. The family being 2 adults 2 kids (9 & 14).
Just want to see if it's viable next year, September/October.
    Cheers

    Hi

I off to Florida next April with my family (2 adults/2 kids), so if I buy a 14 day ultimate ticket for each of us for 2007, will they be valid for 2008? I can't see from the website, when the tickets are valid too.

    Thanks

This was a short term offer and if you buy tickets now for 2008 they will be 2008 prices and valid until 31/12/08.

Best to leave it into next year and see what offer are on all the ticket sites rather than buy now for 2008.

    Has anyone heard of this?
Also, how do you thank in a post I'm a newbie.

You need to wonder why he is an ex-Disney employee ;)

Any information he may have can be gleaned from the various Disney forums on the internet for free.

My family & the outlaws (6 adults & 4 kids) are all going to Orlando next April. We are looking at buying Disney tickets, probably a 5 day pass to the Disney parks, plus Universal studios and maybe a couple of others.

My question is that with the £ so high against the $ at the moment, can I buy my tickets from the USA and take advantage of the excellent exchange rate?

Or am I just wasting my time because the deals available from UK agents/websites are just as good?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Disney tickets for the UK market are the best value, you'll be able to get 7 days for the price of a 5 day ticket and although these can be sold in the US for the UK market only, generally you would as well buying them from a UK seller.

I bought tickets this year via the US but to be honest the saving was minimal even with the good exchange rate. Tickets for Seaworld, as a rule, are cheapest from their own website and they often have offers on.

For Universal and the others you may be cheaper going via a US site, I'm not sure but the best thing to do is work out which tickets you want for which parks then Google for the various companies and do a comparison. If you find that say Disney is cheaper on one but Universal is dearer on another most of the UK websites will price match to get your order. Make sure you go with a company that doesn't charge for cc use and/or delivery.

While you could research now you need to take into account that some prices for 2008 will be increased but then perhaps the companies will have offers on during the quiet time of Jan/Feb.... :)

UPDATE - this thread will remain a sticky, thanks for comments and suggestions! :D
  • I notice that the 2008 prices are now published. We are going to Orlando in April 2008; do the tickets go up in price or are they the same published price for the year?

In other words do I need to buy them now?

    Thanks

    Hi Fotoman

Disney almost always increase their prices in the first week in Jan, so buying your tickets now could well save you some money :)

Depends on where you are looking and what tickets you want to buy. Buying the UK tickets through Disney direct they will be the same price all year and incidentally should you buy them now they have an expiry date of 31/12/07 and thats why websites will ask you if you are going 2007 or 2008 and if you are going in 2008 you will pay the 2008 price.

Website here is offering a price guarantee on their 2008 prices provided you pay a 20% deposit but they will also reduce the price when you come to pay the balance if their prices are lower then.

You need to keep checking through Jan/Feb when the ticket sites will have a "down time" and the prices might fluctuate.

Hi all, I wonder if you can offer some advice for a first time visitor to Florida? We are off to Orlando in March 08 (2 adults) for 1 week and plan on going to Sea World and Gatorland.

Does anyone have any other advice on places to go (not theme parky ie Disney etc) that won't cost an arm and a leg?

We will be staying just off I.Drive and will not have a car so easily accessible please!!

    Thanks guys!

This thread has grown to 57 pages long and has masses of useful information.

I know because over the course of a day or so I read through it from start to finish. Now you've decided that people will have to trawl through posts for another destination in order to reduce the number of stickies?

I guess the look of the board is more important to the mod's than it actually being useful to the members.

    Madness.
