OMG, this thread is SOOOOOOOOO long...
I've just spent over an hour scanning through it cos i'm sure the answer to mu question will be on here somewhere, but my boss has just got back in the office, so i ahve to stop looking.
So, sorry for being repetative, but here's my question....
How much spending money do we need for a 14 night holiday in Disney?
We are a family of 5..... kids aged 12, 8 and 17, and plan to stay in one of the Disney hotels. Park tickets will be bought before hand, so i just need a rough idea as to how much cash we will need for eating.... We plan to hire a car, so won't be tied to eating in Disney.
Any idea anyone? Or even any info on how much you spend when you went??
.........it really is so cheap to eat out! As you've looked through most of these posts, you might already have an idea of the sort of places you'd like to eat at -if you check on any restaurant websites and look at their menus - that will give you a good idea of how much you might spend - don't forget the tip;)
We go every year, and to be honest it has varied year on year. It really depends on eating out etc and how addicted to the outlet villages you are. We spent nearly £4500 last year, about $8750 , but we did eat out every meal, and bought a years worth of clothes and shoes0 -
anybody know where i can get country inns and suites at a low price? i was fortunate to get it for £21 in sept. i know jan is high season in florida but the cheapest i have found it is £60 anybody an ideas. have done all the hotel comparison sites- nada!0

Have you tried Travelrepublic* They usually have a good price for Country Inns. Failing that Hotelopia has a decent price for Extended Stay Deluxe which is on Palm Parkway. Presume you are looking at Lake Buena Vista as there is a another Country Inn in Orlando.
*There is a 5% discount code floating about. The 7.5% code has now expired.0 -

We go every year too (Xmas this year) and we always do a years worth of clothes/toys/dvd's/cd's/shoes shopping, usually we take 2 half empty cases between the four of us (2 adults and 14/7 year olds) and are always up to the weight limit when we return!! I've heard some people say that they took £1500 spending money for two weeks and came home with £700!! I guess it depends on what you do when you're there, when we're not at the parks we're in the malls, so I personally would agree with leedub but as I say if all you do is go to the parks and stay around the pool I guess you could get away with a grand.

The top tickets go in minutes, but there are (as of now) still some tickets for viewing from the Kennedy Complex, alternatively, being a money saving expert you can watch from Cocoa. I've even watched a shuttle launch from Orlando, just look due east at the time of take off, and keep the car radio tuned in so you can hear the local commentary. Even 55 miles away you could see the rocket separation, amazing... I think take off is scheduled for about 4.30pm.
Launches are notoriously fickle and there can be delayed, so if you're going to stand and look due east (well worth it) make sure its doing what its supposed to first, or you could like me end up looking at planes by mistake (only once)...

Was lucky enough to be in Florida for a launch a few years ago. Spent the afternoon in a bar on Cocoa Beach and had an excellent view of the launch. One of the most amazing things I've ever seen. An experience I would recommend to anyone.0 -
Can anybody please recommend a good site to book a cheapish holiday to Orlando on 17/18th November for a week. TIA0

Going this late I would expect the major Airlines to be more expensive than chartered.
Teletext for Travel city, ITV page 222 will be several different pages with different offers on. Every page has a different phone number. take all the offers into account then argue that they should all be the same.!! We did very well last June with TCD.

Hi
I off to Florida next April with my family (2 adults/2 kids), so if I buy a 14 day ultimate ticket for each of us for 2007, will they be valid for 2008? I can't see from the website, when the tickets are valid too.
Thanks2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family. It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,0000 -
My family & the outlaws (6 adults & 4 kids) are all going to Orlando next April. We are looking at buying Disney tickets, probably a 5 day pass to the Disney parks, plus Universal studios and maybe a couple of others.
My question is that with the £ so high against the $ at the moment, can I buy my tickets from the USA and take advantage of the excellent exchange rate?
Or am I just wasting my time because the deals available from UK agents/websites are just as good?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.0
